My kids have a few days off from school in January, and we were contemplating a trip WDW. However, since we've never been to US, and my kids love Harry Potter, I thought a trip there instead would be fun. My concern is that there may be a lot of rides down then and we wouldn't get the full experience. Has anyone visited then and have any insight? Also, how many days would it take to fully tour both parks?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!!

We went every January and July for 3 years straight and loved EVERY minute of it! Crowds were perfect, very minimal and we usually had some good weather some nights were cold BUT all in all January used to be our all time favorite time of the year!

Good luck with your decision!

As Meagan said, the crowds are light, so I think you could tour USF and IOA in two days, if you are the kind of person that stays the entire day in the park.

My kids love USF/IOA so much that we take at least 4 days, because we like to repeat some rides... ;)

At this time of the year, sometimes (not always) one of the water rides like Popeye or Dudley at IOA is closed, but the other rides are always working normally.

If you want to go to water rides in Jan, take rain ponchos and take your shoes off, cause you'll get wet.:laundy:

I agree with the other posters. The only thing I might add is the weather in January is a crap shoot...you can expect anything from the 60's - 80's during the day and 30's - 50's at night. Last year was brutually cold...for us Floridians...so I hope that doesn't happen again.
