Hi,
We are planning a 4 day trip in February 2007 for my 4 kids-ages 9,5,4 and 1. ( plus myself and my husband) We are deciding between the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge( 2 bedroom) or a 1 bedroom suite in the Contemporary Resort. when I called Disney directly, I was told both accomodations will be comfortable for us- but I needed the expertise of all of you!!! There is about a 1000 package price difference between the two. Any feedback would be great!! :cheer2: Thanks- Hilary

Hi & welcome! :wave2:
I can't help you with the Contemporary but my family has stayed at the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge 2x and we'll be going back on Sat, we love it. I have 4 kids also and we definitely need the room. We became DVC members a few years ago and it was the best move for us. You'll have lots of room to spread out, not to mention the full kitchen and in room washer and dryer! You should check out the rent/trade board over in the DVC section -- you can usually get a great deal renting points vs booking through Disney.

The CR is a great resort for a family with small kids. You have the convience of the monorail and you dont even have to fold the stroller to get on and off. When you get off at the resort you are just a short elevator trip up to your floor. You can leave the kids in the stroller from the park right to your room. Big plus!! We stayed at the CR in 2003 on the 11th floor and the view was just amazing. We watched the fireworks from our balcony more than once and being able to see into the MK was neat. Cant wait to stay there again. My kids were 4,7 1/2 and 13. They loved the monorail running through the resort and we rode it many times just to make the resort loop for fun. They also loved the game room on the lower floor. The pool was not really themed, but it has a water slide and they loved that. There is also a playground that we used and the younger two enjoyed. I would vote for the CR for the ammenities it can offer a family with young children.

Have you considered a family suite at ASMu? They accomodate 6 with a kitchenette and 2 bathrooms, and have wonderful Disney theming that kids visiting the 1st time will enjoy. It may be more budget conscious than the others.
Just a thought...
