Hey there we are heading to WDW in a few weeks and I have a question. We normally go to Disneyland but got a great deal on flights from Seattle to Orlando that we thought we would try WDW this year instead. My question is regarding the fast pass system...at Disneyland you can collect all day and use anytime is it the same way at WDW or do you have to go in the hour window that they give you. We will prpbably only be spending 5 or 6 days at WDW as we want a couple days at Universal, the beach and other areas. So we want to do as much as we can while were are there. Thanks for all your help.

Same as DL, you can use all day (but only on the day of issue). We have done this for a while. On another recent thread, only one person mentioned being stopped for an expired pass; mused that it was a new cast member. Technically you can't do this, but in practice it is enforced probably less than 1% of the time.

Do you mind me asking what your great deal was on the flights? Our family is considering a trip in May and would love to get an idea of what to look for. We, too, would be leaving out of Seattle.

Thanks in advance.:)

I think 1% might even be an exaggeration. Probably more like .1% :)

It is beyond rare to see this happen... almost non-existent.

That said, may I say you are in for a treat! We too did DL for many years before trying WDW and it is definitely a different experience. We still love DL, but now very much in love with WDW as well.

Have a Magical Trip! :wizard:

Thanks everyone for the responses. It is great to know that we can collect fastpasses all day just like DL to use later in the day/night when it is a little busier.

Fraservalleymom....we paid $1272 round trip with all the taxes in for 4 of us. We thought that was a good deal but maybe not. It isn't a direct flight (not sure if there are some) but we leave Seattle at 7:00 am and get into Orlando at 6:01 pm then we leave Orlando at 5:50 pm and get into Seattle at 10:53pm. There were a little cheaper flights with better times but we hummed about it for a little bit and those flights were sold out by the time we were ready to book them. My advice is that watch the sites. We bought through Expedia.ca. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask. I love looking for deals and holiday info.

I'm pretty sure when I say this but I believe once you've gotten a fastpass for say eg. 'Test Track' between 12:25 - 12:35 you cannot go to another ride and get another fastpass until the time you're supposed to be at 'Test track' has elapsed. Not sure if that is what you meant by the above quote and seeing as I've never been to DisneyLand I don't know their routine.

In the OP's original post, they mentioned "collecting fastpasses", which means you can get multiple fastpasses and just hold onto them and use them when it is most convenient to you rather than in just the 1 hour window printed on the ticket.

As far as how the FP system works, you are partially right. You can get another FP either during the return time on the 1st FP you obtained or in 2 hours after getting the 1st FP... whichever time comes sooner. In other words if you get a FP with a return time for 4 hours later, you don't have to wait 4 hours before you can get another one, you can get one after waiting 2 hours. Make sense? Hope so ;)

Yes that is what I ment....once the return time has started you can get another fast pass. I didn't realize that after 2 hours you can get another one...you can't do that at Disneyland...you have to wait for your return time so that is why we try to collect them in the morning when the return time is shorter....like an hour. Thanks for the help it will make things so much easier knowing how things work in WDW. And I'm sure I will fall inlove with WDW as much as I did DL if not more...my poor husband...lol.
