Hello
ok we are not going till Nov.04 but i have a few questions so i can plan and pack around these answers.LOL.
1.I just got a collapsible cooler at Target on wheels for 12.00(Clearance sale of course ;) )Can i carry this thing inside Magic Kingdom and fill it with can soda's and snacks?
2.My hubby always get headaches while in parks like this and i carry a bottle of Tylenol at all times. Can i bring them into the park?
3.Also i have looking on ebay for a WDW pass,we are only going for 1 day this time and 2 days to Universal.I am looking at passes on ebay but am scared to buy them. What if i buy them and then get all the way to Disney and Universal and they are bogus?Or what if it was a ticket someone had that you had to use the days consecutively and they are trying to sell the unused days and then you get there and they say sorry?
Would it be wise to just get them online?
A 1 day pass to disney is only like 55.00 and the universal tickets are 2 days to both USF and IOA for 98.00 per person.
Thanks for any suggestions!

No, you cannot bring a wheeled cooler into the parks. You can bring a smaller cooler (like one that holds a six-pack) but not one on wheels.
2.My hubby always get headaches while in parks like this and i carry a bottle of Tylenol at all times. Can i bring them into the park?
Yes, you can. I always bring a small bottle of Advil and another of Dramamine for my crew and have never had a problem.

Buying from an unknown source can always be risky. There is no way to know how many days remain on those passes until you get to WDW...and then it may be too late. If you are determined to purchase on eBay, make sure that you check the seller's feedback. Don't buy from someone who has poor feedback or very little.
A 1 day pass to disney is only like 55.00 and the universal tickets are 2 days to both USF and IOA for 98.00 per person.
You can get 5-day passes to USF/IOA for less thru this link: Kraft Hulk USF/IOA Offer for $81.95 plus tax per pass, you will get 5 consecutive days of admission to both parks. You don't need to go for all 5 days. But this price is less than the cost of a 2-day pass, so even if you only go for 2 days, you will save some money.

For the WDW pass, I'm afraid that you won't get any discounts on single-day admissions unless you are going with a conventtion group. There are often "after 2 pm" passes that Disney sells to those groups. I've seen them go for as low as $42 (adult or child).

There are also Timeshare presentations that you and your spouse could attend in exchange for free 1-day park passes. If you have the time to spend with a saleperson during your vacation, this might be the way to go for you.

well phooey that stinks i cant use my cooler. It is a vinyl cooler but has wheels and seemed like a good idea.We will use it for other trips this summer to our local zoo.
So i can bring can soda and snacks in though?
Should i get a fanny pack or bring in my big purse?
Thanks for the link to the tickets i am buying them there at that link.I wonder this offer expires?
Thanks so much.

also i have a question about this fast pass thing.I dont understand this deal.I saw people selling a fast pass on ebay.I thought this was a free deal?Is there 2 different kinds or what?
Also about Disney dollars? Can these be used at Magic Kingdom like at gift shops or something? Thanks for your answers.

Fast pass is free to everyone in the park. I can't believe someone is trying to sell one on ebay. Fanny packs, back packs, large purse........it's all a matter of preference. I prefer a fanny pack because it doesn't get in the way when you are getting on a ride. However, we do take a backpack for those times when we'll take the camcorder (watching fireworks, parades, etc.). Personally I wouldn't want to take a big purse.

We were in WDW through new years and didn't have any problems bringing in snacks, sandwiches, water and soda. Since there was 8 of us we spread things out a bit. My hubby brought a backpack and we put a couple of frozen water bottles in there with some other items. I had a soft cooler (one with a strap to carry it, so it wasn't large), which again we put a couple of frozen water bottles in with the sandwiches and whatever else would fit. I brought a large beach bag that has a drawstring close. This is where I carried all of the things we needed to have with us at all times. The other bags we put in a locker so we wouldn't have to carry it around. At lunch and dinner time we would go to the lockers and sit down to eat. This way we could leave any items purchased during that time in the locker as well and not have to carry it for the rest of the time. I took tylenol, gravol, and children's tylenol along with me without any problems either.

Fast pass is free and only good for the time shown on the ticket and for that date. Hopefully nobody buys the pass because they will be out that money.

HTH and have a great time in Orlando!!

ok so i should be able to bring in canned pops and bottled water and snacks then?I sure hope so.
Also does anyone know about Disney dollars can they be used anywhere inside Magic Kingdom?this is the park we are choosing to visit at Disney.
Thanks for your help.

You should be just fine bringing in sodas and water along with other snacks. It's done all the time and Disney is used to it. :p
Yes Disney Dollars can be used in the MK. If you have any left over at the end of your trip, just go to any of the shops and ask them if they will exchange them for you for US Dollars, you shouldn't have any problems at all with this!
Have fun on your trip..wish I was going as soon as you are. I still have 2 years. :faint:

ok about my cooler on wheels.I saw that someone brought in a soft cooler.Mine is a soft cooler but it has wheels and an expandable handle to pull it.It reminds me of my kids backbacks they have that have wheels you know and the expandable handle
on it.It does not look like a cooler to me it is hard to explain. So is the cooler thing because they are big or you cant have wheels or what is the restrictions on this?
You guys are sooooo much help i do appreciate it.

That's it....it's too big and it's on wheels. Just the strollers alone in the MK make it hard to get around. I've seen people trip over them and little ones because they aren't looking down. Imagine if more people were dragging coolers behind them as well! Wheeled backpacks are not permited, either. In fact, even the little wagons that people like to put little ones in when going to the park are not permitted in the Disney Parks.

If you can carry your soft-side cooler on your back (like a backpack) then there will be no problem. You just cannot wheel it along behind you.

ohhhhh i see lol.Leave it to us country bunkins!I see your point now seems logical to me.We have those drink holders with the straps but i know my kids will be saying carry this carry this!
Glad you brought up the wagon thing cause we have one of those too but yes i do see the logic behind that.
Ok so we will be doing Disney Nov.27 do you think the line for the rides will be outrageous???
Also does Disney have front of the line passes?

Nov 27 will be the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It's pretty safe to safe that it will be very crowded on that day.

Disney's version of a front of the line pass is called the FastPass. It is free with your admission to the park. Not every attraction has FastPass but those that do will have a set of kiosks to the side and a CM will be manning them to assist you. You put your park pass into the machine and the machine spits out a FastPass ticket and your park pass. The FastPass ticket will have a return timeframe on it. Most return times cover a 1-hour window but some attractions have a smaller window. Every member of your party must have a FastPass to use the FastPass line when you return. You have to surrender your FastPass ticket when you enter the attraction.

For a really good description of FastPass, how it works and where it is available, click here .

doyou suggest maybe we get there when they open and order our tickets early and have them when we arrive?do you think the kids will have to wait in line for like 1 hour to ride a ride?

We saw a few people with wheeled backpacks in the parks last week. I'm not saying it's allowed but I did see a few of them. One was when we were getting out of the B&B show and this women is pulling it behind her and slowing up the rest of us while she stops to get a drink out of it . People kept bumping into her cause they werent looking down just forward to get out of the show. I don't understand why anybody would want to lug around a huge backpack through a park all day. I'm happy with my fanny pack, which I normally wouldnt wear. Only at Disney. LOL

I wouldn't want a cooler on wheels in WDW even if you COULD bring it in. What a hassle! Every time we go I bring a backpack for drinks and snacks, etc. I don't even notice I have it on, not uncomfortable at all.

thanks for your help i do see the point in not having it.We are used to the crowds we have here like at our local zoo i am not used to say 1,000 people in 1 area lol!I do appreciate the help i just want to get all my questions answered so i will be ready to go when November finally arrives.
Thanks again for your help it is much appreciated!

Like I said, you've chosen a very busy time of year to visit, so you can expect crowds and long lines. I think that arriving at the park early would be a good idea, especially if you are not staying onsite. The parks have been known to reach capacity during the busier times. If you arrive too late, you can get shut out.

I'm not sure how many 1-hour lines you'll encounter. I wouldn't wait that long. Each attraction will have a board near the entrance line with the approximate wait time on it. Use the FastPasses when you can. I would suggest getting a copy of Bob Sehlinger's Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. There are some excellent touring plans in it for single-day visits to the Magic Kingdom.

I do not think that you'll be able to pre-order your tickets, since you plan on spending only one day at WDW. You can only purchase 1-day passes at the gate. Sorry.

You can get the tickets the day before you plan on going to the parks though- that would save on valuable time. Also- I see your kids are 7.5 and 11. Why don't you get them their own fanny packs that have water bottle holders on them and let them take care of their own drinks. Fanny packs are wonderful because they don't weigh your shoulders down and they keep your hands free. When my kids were younger we did this and it worked out beautifully! We also gave them "x" amount of dollars a day and told them that was their extra spending money. We paid for main meals and tickets into the parks- but if they wanted a souvenier or an ice cream they paid for it with their own money- some of which was given to them for b-days and some of it from their own hard work. It was amazing to see how much money they all came home with afetr that trip! Enjoy your trip!

Ummm, I don't want to scare you off or anything, but we are talking more like 10,000 people in one area. And that would be if every area of the park has that many people.

It's good that you are doing your research early. I know many people go and have a great time during Thanksgiving, but you do need to be prepared and have a plan. I second the suggestion of The Unofficial Guide. That will give you an idea of how to work the Fastpass system to your advantage.

Have a great trip!!

You are a brave soul... The saturday after Thanksgiving, Oi Vey!

I've only gone to MK once on a Saturday... NEVER again ;)

Is it possible for you to do the Universal days on Sat and Sun then visit MK on Mon?

Anyway, on to practical advice...
- As others have said, buy the unofficial guide. It is mandatory in your situation.
- If you are arriving in Orlando on Friday go to the park and buy your 1-day passes for the next day. Then arrive EARLY (Like an hour before gates "open". The lines will be stunning to say the least for transportation over to the MK. You may even want to take a taxi to the Contemporary and walk the path to the MK entrance.
- Take as little as you can get by with in to the park. Time spent messing with "stuff" is only going to slow you down.

Have fun!
