I have no clue at all anything about Universal. We have been to Disney at least 2-3 times a year. This time we will be going in Dec and would like to spend a couple of days in Universal. We are planning Dec 6-8 would that be enough time for us to be able to experience all things there? Also what about us staying on property verses not, and if so does some Resorts get more perks than others.
Anything anyone can tell me is more than I know. I am so in the dark about all of this but I do want my DH and our DF to be able to see and do everything, I am not as adventurous as they are..

Please help me.

Thanks in Advance.

Are you planning 2 or 3 full park days? The deluxe resorts RPR, HRH, PBH all offer 1 hr early entry and unlimited express pass in all eligible rides (all but 3).

Cabana Bay is the new value resort, also offers 1 hr early entry but NO express pass.

I love the unlimited express pass, even if it is a slow time you can't beat express.

We are looking at 2 full days. So we should go with one of the Deluxe resorts then? I want to be able to the most possible. So if that means more money for the Resort then that's what we will have to do.

If you spend one night in a Deluxe, you get the Express Pass for check in and check out days. It means getting up a little early on your check in day. As far as the onsite deluxe hotels, Hard Rock is the closest, Royal Pacific is the cheapest, and Portofino Bay is the nicest. There are boats that go between each of those and a central drop off/pick up location between the park entrances. Getting to/from the parks is a snap with the Dark Side. I have seen the distances between everything compared to Disneyland but I have not been to Disneyland to compare for myself yet.

FYI Gringotts is not part of the Express Pass but it is part of early entry. I doubt you will need the Express Pass when you are going but if you want to squeeze every bit of fun out of your time, I do recommend it. It is so nice to decide you want to go on a ride and practically walk right up to the front of the line. It is such a different experince than WDW. We are going in Oct and staying one night at HRH just for the EE/EP.

We just returned from 5 nights at the HRH Club Level. We used the Express Pass for EVERYTHING possible, even if the regular wait time was only 10 minutes. We were easily able to see everything, and do things multiple times if we wanted to. We had 4 full days and one partial day for the parks.
