First time to fly...Please Help Me!

Hi all...we are planning a trip to Disney California in April...I have been checking rates since about Oct./Nov. and they have been around the $200/pp mark give or take $10...today I see the rate is down to $163.00/pp and the dates we want are available.

The best rate is through Northwest...since I haven't flown I'd take any opinions on their service/flight

And I'm just wondering if anyone thinks this is a good deal? I know it is the lowest I've seen in the past 2-3 months but will it go lower?

Okay..another thing, if for some reason we could not take the trip (hope not) how does it work to transfer your tickets? I know there is a fee per ticket but how strict are the guidelines...is it do-able?

You haven't told us where you'll be flying from, so I can't be of too much help. I do know that when I fly from Boston to Orlando, I'm happy with any fare that is less than $200. My sister in law flies NW a lot and seems to be happy with them.
As far as not being able to use the reservations if you have to cancel....you would let the airline know that you won't be using the tickets. They will charge you a fee..anywhere from $25-50 per ticket, sometimes more depending on the airline. The rest of the fare will be given as a credit for a future flight. I can't say for sure what NW's proceedure is, but this is normal for most airlines.

We will be flying from Detroit (DTW) to LAX Los Angles...there are 4 of us so every $10-$20 adds up quickly.
