Hi All - my DD (21) and I will be in Paris for a long weekend in January 2025 and plan to take the train to DLP for a day and park hop. This will be our first time to DLP but we have been to WDW a few times and DL (CA) many times.

Appreciate any tips for buying tickets, premier access so that we maximize both parks in one day, what to wear, what rides to focus on, and the trains.

Thanks all! Really looking forward to your suggestions.

My advice - don't bother park hopping and spend the whole day at Disneyland Paris. It is a beautiful park and worth spending some time just looking around and exploring. Studios is one big construction wall right now. We were there for four days a couple months ago and we far preferred the castle park. If I only had one day I would spend it at Disneyland. You can visit Studios in a few years after they finish the new lands.

If you've been to WDW and DL, in the studio park the only rides of interest are:
- Crush and coaster: a fun spinning roller coaster, which always has a long line. Buy individual Premier Pass for it or let it go
- the Tower of Terror has the old twilight zone theme with a twist, but probably skippable too
- Rock and Roller coaster rethemed with Iron-man, probably skippable too
Everything else is either a clone or a flat ride you can find in any amusement park. Shows however, are top notch. I think Mickey and the Magician is one of the best Disney shows everywhere. I haven't watched Together, but it has above average reviews. If you're into shows, those might be worth checking out.

Dress for cold, I mean "Arandelle-Elsa-has-gone-mad" level of cold. It's not unusual to snow in January.

Definitely dress for the cold and possible rain. In my experience, snow is better than rain (as while it's colder, snow mostly doesn't stick to you and you can stay dry).

I would personally go ahead and park hop, depending on overall park hours on the day you go. While I agree DS is a mess right now, it also means there are even less things to do there so you can knock out the few things and then focus on Disneyland Paris. I think the Tower of Terror is a must (as it's the best version in my view) and the shows there are great....I would not miss Mickey and the Magician (which also offers Premier Access), Together is good as well and they have a new Dr Strange/Wanda/Agatha night show that looks pretty good as well (there's a good YouTube summary that was just posted here:
).

There will also likely be some refurbs in January due to the lower crowd levels, so you may not even fill a full day at Disneyland alone.

Tickets are now demand/date based pricing. Check to see if Klook is offering any discounts. If you're US based, check your credit card offers as well. My Amex just had a Klook offer for cash back. There are otherwise few discounts on offer coming from the US. There are sometimes offers locally.

As for Premiere Access, I would buy a la carte what you need given it's January. I doubt most rides will require it. I think best value is for Crush's Coaster. I have also purchased in the past for Mickey and the Magician, the Lion King Rythyms of the Pride Lands and for the fireworks. Probably not necessary for any of these three in January....I would personally only opt for Crush's Coaster.

I would certainly park hop. The Studios Park had the rides that were much more interesting to me than most of what's at DLP, plus Mickey & the Magician is maybe the best show of I have seen at any park anywhere.

DLP has mostly the same stuff as Magic Kingdom and Disneyland- though some unique experiences too. I loved Hyperspace Mountain. The best of any of the Space Mountain rides I've been on.

We were just there at the end of September 2024. I would check the crowd calendar as part of the decision to park hop or not. Even with the premier pass, when things are really busy, you are going to get slowed down. If there are heavy crowds, just stick with Disneyland. But if the crowds are reasonable, park hop. I echo what others have said here about the rides in the studios park.

I’d love to hear how it went, OP. We plan to do similar in March.

I was also planning to park hop.
