First time to Disneyland Paris - what things are a must to do with a 6 and 4 year old

I'd check the school holidays for the rest of Europe (someone here may have a link or you could google) that will be a good guide to figure out how busy the parks will be! As my LO is at part time nursery I don't kind taking him out for a few days, I know lots of people don't like to take kids out of school for holidays but personally I think a few days is here nor there and the difference in price and business of the parks is ridiculous! x

I'm the same as you, I don't see the harm if its just for a first days and they have good attendance all year round.
We recently got married abroad and took our son out of school - dont think the school minded too much but they have already sent letters home warning people they are clamping down for next year :rolleyes2

when we plan to go in June its my sons half term from school, not sure whether the other schools in England are all on half term i will need to check, and good point about checking the rest of Europe. Be nice if the first time we went wasn't so overcrowded.

:)
I always take my kids out of school to go to Disney - half-term will be very busy, not to mention expensive.

Personally, I LOVE the Cheyenne. We've never had time to use a pool anyway so that doesn't bother us. The themeing at the Cheyenne is wonderful and I think it's the only on-site hotel with bunk beds, which is very important to my kids :) The only fault with it is that it's a 15-20 minute walk back to the hotel at night if it's very cold or you have very little ones (oh, and you will need to take a buggy even if your 4yo is out of one at home!) But it's a lovely walk back along the river so when the weather is warmer that wouldn't bother me at all.

It definitely won't be all girly - I'd say the appeal is exactly 50/50 for boys and girls. The princess lunch is really nice but very expensive so I'd say it's a waste of money if your son isn't bothered - get Dad to take him elsewhere and save yourself 80 Euros or so! :)

thanks for your reply :)
if they made school holiday trips cheaper I'd be happy to go all the time in school hols but you're right it's just so expensive.
Will definately be taking a buggy for my 4 year old, she's lazy at the best of times now!
I am still considering the Cheyenne, it would be perfect if it had a pool as i think we might have a lazy first and last day there.
The only thing i'm not sure about with the Sequoia is it's cheaper to stay in the lodges (have these just been refurbished does anyone know?!) but are these lodges really far out? as its extra to upgrade to the Montana room and stay in the main hotel building, if we did that it's not so much a bargain trip!
we don't mind walking generally, especially if the weather is ok - hoping it won't rain a lot in June!

You'll be fine in the lodges, they are a couple of minutes at most walk, don't worry about that! The other thing to consider is the sequoia would be 2 double beds, the Cheyenne is 1 double and bunk beds, so depends what sleeping arrangements you would prefer! x

Thanks for letting me know, will add that info to the list of positives and negatives for choosing those 2 hotels.
I find it really odd that thats what the sleeping arrangements are at the SL when its all geared up for kids!
i don't really mind them sharing a double at the age they will be though (6 and 4) it would be a problem if they were older.

do you know if the lodges have been refurbished recently at the SL? and would there be any part best to stay in (i could email over and put a request in on the off chance.)

All the hotels are 2 doubles apart from the Cheyenne I think!
I think all of sequoia has been refurbished including the lodges, you could always ask to be in a lodge close to the main building but none of them are toooo far!

That's good then thank you :)
Just need to get the holiday booked now so I can officially be on countdown!
