I am planning my first trip to Disney and I am wondering what would be the best time to go. I was thinking either June or October. It will be me and my 10 year old son. Also any advice on which resort to stay in?

I would all so vote for october

as for a resort i would pick one of the values we last stayed at pop and loved it

Agree with the op Loved POP great w/ kids very Disney. I also enjoyed the weather in Oct. Planning Oct 2008. Congrats on planning first trip!

I too would say October - June is way too hot!! We normally stay at a value resort - CBR is our favorite.

Ok, I'm going to be the lone dissenting voice. We love June because it is warm. We love the water parks and we love that the parks are usually open longer. That way we can go back to the resort (swim or relax) and still have plenty of time to hit another park when it's a little cooler.

OP, definitely spring for the park hopper option. If you're on a budget do the values, if you can spring for a deluxe go with BC. Your 10 yo will love stromalong bay.

It is usually warm enough to swim in Oct as well. I think there would be longer hours in June though. In Oct though, you don't need the longer hours because you can get just as much done in a smaller amt of time.

So, I am saying Oct. If you do June though, go in very early June before the crowds get too bad.

I'm saying no way to June unless you are experienced. Now for October, Parts of it are totally nuts! I mean tons of people! Now other parts of October are ok. You might not want to go at these times but January and May are the absolutely best times to go! I'm saying like not many people at all. If you want to go earlier the Last week in Augst is good and also one or so weeks before Christmas. Those are the best times to go. If you are trying to pick between June and October though i would pick October! But guess what! You'll have the best time ever no matter what time you go. ! Have tons of Fun!!
:cool1: :yay: :woohoo: :rotfl: :upsidedow

If I only had the two options of June & October, I would choose October. We have been in June several times and it is absolutely hot!! Living in Hotlanta and being from Alabama, I know what hot is and Orlando in June can be miserable at times. I have read of tons of stuff going on in October and it seems like a fun time to go.

If you are more flexible with your month then May is an awesome time to go. We went in May this year and we will definitely be trying to go in May from now on. The weather was great and the crowds were really light.

As far as the resort goes, we stayed at Pop Century one night before moving to Saratoga Springs. Pop Century was great and I would definitely stay there again!
