First time staying on Property as an adult! HELP

So the last time I stayed on property I was about 12.

Now I am an adult and we are staying at The Grand 10/5-10/8
I know there are a lot of free or guest only offerings and I am trying to get a handle on them. I have been reading the Grand super thread and getting a lot of great info. I am also checking the dates on the DLR calendar, checking EE days and the schedule for Gay Days (as we are there for this event as well)

First and foremost I am a disney fan so disney will take first place above Gay Days events.

I am still toying with going to the halloween party on friday 10/5 as I would be going solo.

I know there are so many must see's at the hotel themselves I want to experience as many as possible. Can anyone suggest some things to do or see while staying in the hotel?

Any tips for staying on property would be great! I know nothing about it!

I think you should totally do the Halloween party. My DH and I had a blast last year. The fireworks are AMAZING!

The Grand does a Art of the Craft Tour, and also has a scavenger hunt called The Grand Quest.

My two favorite perks of the GCH

• On the 6th floor of the DVC wing there is a patio only accessible to hotel guests that overlooks Paradise Pier and offers a decent view of WoC
• If you are staying on the DTD side, make abundant use of the not-so-secret exit: Good video showing the exit

We like whitewater snacks and storytellers for meals, the character breakfast at storytellers is a lot of fun. The gift shop is great, usually no lines, usually has items not found anywhere else, and the CM's are very helpful...
