Any building is ok at OKW. You can walk to DD, the pathway is down at the
South Point area. You can take a boat ride to DD also or the bus for that matter. OKW is a laid back resort with nothing I would call "do not miss"

When you check-in, included in your package will be a list of activities at OKW. I didn't find it until the day before we checked out. Too bad because I'd like to have tried some of them.

They have pool parties, sand art, creat a magnet, umbrella, hat, and kite decorating, goofy bingo, yadda yadda yadda.

You might find something interesting to do on that list.

You've got to have a drink at Gurgling Suitcase (I recommend the Sultry Seahorse). There's something about this little place that really makes me feel like part of a neighborhood there. I think it's because one time, DH and I went in to have a drink and within about 30 seconds this guy started chewing our ear off about the "terrible pool slide, whose idea...., they never asked us....", etc. etc. It's such a homey little place.

You can rent a surrey bike at OKW and actaully ride it arond without having to get off to push it up a hill.

Olivia's has a nice breakfast menu. It's fun to sit outside on the patio and eat breakfast.

You can hop a bus at Peninsular Road and get off anywhere in the resort for a ride back to your villa. Or catch the Internal Bus at the Hospitality House to go bsck to any bus stop,

Ice machines are located at the bus stops.

OKW has the best villas of all the DVC resorts - they are very large.

It's a more enjoyable ride than the BWV!

If you like to be around alot of people then I would recommend a building near the HH. There is always something going on there even though the resort is labeled as "laid back".

So what's in the Sultry Seahorse at Gurgling Suitcase?

You fall in love with OKW.

Thank you for all the replies. I have wanted to stay at OKW since 1992 when my mom first took me as a graduation present. When we decided to buy SS, the first thing I told my husband was OKW will be our very first stay! Everytime I pass it, it just looks like a wonderful place and I'm hoping that my stay will be better, so much better than my visions of it!

we have been members since it open, you will lov e the place. we always stay at old turtle pond area.
