First time staying at a value

We've never stayed at a value before, we've stayed in either the moderate or deluxe in the past. We are opting for value this time simply because it's just the 2 of us this trip and we are the type to rarely be in the room. While the amenities are very nice in the deluxe, for us, we aren't at the resort to take full advantage. We were torn this time between the moderate and value but opting for value and am quite excited. Anyone else trying a value for the first time?

I went with my kids once and stayed at the all stars after only staying in deluxe resorts, and once by myself and stayed at Pop Century and didn't have any problems with it. I think you have your expectations set accordingly, so you will be fine.

I liked the food courts at the values actually, worked well for us.

We are trying value for the first time next year (AoA). We usually stay Moderate and have stayed Deluxe once but we're opting for two rooms at a value since we have a party of 5 that want to sleep in beds and not pull outs.

I really like pop if I'm staying value. Very clean, pretty grounds, great food court and busses. I think the values are perfect if you are not spending much time at the resort. With only 2 of you the smaller room and one sink will be fine. I think the values have that fun Disney feeling. They make me feel like a kid!!

I was a little apprehensive to stay at Pop for the first time. We'd stayed at mods and deluxe previously and I was worried we'd feel letdown. But honestly, we liked Pop so much, we stayed there two more trips and tried All Stars Music on another.

Personally, I've been pleased with all the Disney resorts we've stayed in. I think Disney resorts offer a high level of quality in all price categories.

I've stayed at POR 3x & YachtClub 1x.
This fall I'll be staying at Pop, then Boardwalk, then tenting at Fort Wilderness.

I want to try Pop to see if I find it's tooooo great of a difference or if I might want to switch from a Mod to a Value & then use any savings to stay Deluxe for other trips.

Our last trip we did a split stay between ASSports and BC. The first half of the vacation we stayed at the value because thats when we spent almost no time in the room, and when we stayed at BC we hung out at the resort a lot more. While you could definitely tell the difference (especially in the beds, oh my gosh BC's was so much better) we were perfectly happy staying at ASSports. The room was nice and clean, the king size bed rooms seemed bigger since there wasn't two beds in there. The CM's were just as friendly and helpful! Can't comment on the food court to much, because we rarely ate there.

I'm booked at POFQ with DD for our upcoming June trip. Due to a great airfare though, I decided to come down a day earlier and we'll be staying at the All Star Music for that night. This will be our first time at a value and I'm really looking forward to the experience.

We've stayed at CSR and POFQ, and we loved both of them. This year we chose POP to save a little money and we are looking forward to it. People seem to like Pop, and now we will have a refrigerator in the room plus (new for most of us at WDW) wireless internet. We don't do much more than sleep in the room anyway, so I'm not too concerned. When we travel, we usually don't stay in fancy hotels, so Pop should be fine for us.

Have you considered AoA? It looks great! "The Big Blue" will be the largest resort pool on property. I'm looking forward to trying the "Landscape of Flavors" food court with five action stations. Since it's just two of you, the Little Mermaid section opening on September 15th, 2012 would be best.

I learned a valuable lesson in 2010, when visiting more than one resort during a trip it is best to start at the low end and work your way upscale. Just in case you were thinking of changing resorts midstream.

The rooms are itty bitty.

I couldn't stand not having a fridge, but they corrected that.

The only other thing is the garish colors and decorations. When I get back to my hotel, I want to relax. I don't want all those loud colors and stuff.

I wish they'd build a relaxing Value. It can be itty bitty, but just not scream at me when I get there.
