so, what's it like being a solo traveler?

i'm looking into booking my first solo trip for march of 2011. what do you do when you go solo? i know theres the single rider lines, but do you do character meals? how do you go about doing that (i.e.: getting pictures and such)? also, is it a good idea to do about one or 2 tours? i've done keys to the kingdom and LOVED it, and i'm up for doing it again by myself.

let me know any of your ideas!

Lets see. . .hmmmm, I have taken many solo trips and NEVER have I been alone. Always someone I know from here to meet up with. So put your dates out there and if you want to meet up, I am sure there will be others from here to meet. Now, if you are truly wanting a solo trip, then do what you want, when you want and have a BLAST.

I really enjoyed the Futureworld tour at Epcot as well as the backstage tour at Animal Kingdom!
I haven't done a character meal solo, but I am sure that any of the CMs there would be willing to take your picture for you!
Hope you have a good trip!

To answer your first question. Its great being a solo traveler!! Being able to do what you want when you want is fantastic.

Now as for Character meals; I've done CRT, 1900 Park Fare, and Crystal Palace all solo and had a wonderful time. All the servers I had were nice and even came over when a character came to my table so I could get my picture taken with the character. I didn't expect them to do that, so I was very happy. I also increased my tip too the because of that. :)

I didn't do any tours last November on my first solo trip, but this coming November on my second solo trip I'm doing 2. The Segway tour of EPCOT and the Keys tour. I doubt you'd have any problems doing any tour you wanted solo.

I did use Photopass A LOT, as I think its a great service for soloers. I got some really nice photos of a sunburned me with Donald in EPCOT. :)

My only really suggestion is to just do what you want on your solo trip. Have fun, relax, and let the winds take you where they may.

When I lived in Florida, I'd drive alone to Disney once or twice a month and last year I flew down for a vacation by myself. And this December, I am going down for a full week. I love it and love the freedom of the solo trip.

Going solo can be a lot of fun... kinda depends on your personality and what you want to do... I'm "semi-local" and go solo on day trips and have done solo weekends during Food & Wine, etc...

I'd suggest posting before your trip and doing some informal meet-ups with others from the board for a wander around Epcot, lunch, etc...

I'd say any of the tours solo would be ideal...
