First time review w/ lots of pics!

The Plaza - yummy! My DH had the cheesesteak there last month and loved it too!
He is a smart man:thumbsup2

Great so far! That cheesesteak looks amazing. :thumbsup2
It was amazing!

You know, I had never heard the term "food porn" before I started to read this board, but it's really apropos.
I hadnt either but you are totally right. I could not think of a better term to use.

your photos and reviews are excellent......thanks for taking the time to do all this....
You are so welcome and thank you for taking the time to read them!

Got my napkin tucked in...my knife and fork ready...soda at hand....lay it on us!!!
 Looks like you have everything you need.

Good so far. :goodvibes: Maybe I'll have to try the Plaza-we've never eaten there.
This was our first time too. Im so glad we tried it.

Super! Drooling for next install! Is the Plaza better than CP?
I have only eaten the breakfast at CP so I cant say for sure. We do CP every trip for breakfast, kind of a tradition. I luv Tigger!

The food at the Plaza looks great and the milkshake looks really delicious :)

For dinner, we had reservations for Jiko at 7:30. This was also our first time dining here. We arrived right on time for our reservation and only waited about 5 minutes to seated. As we were seated a nice lady came around with hot towels for us. Then our server came to take our drink orders. DH and DD had sodas and I ordered the Zebratini! It was really good and strong!!!! Had a slight coffee taste, I am not sure what was in it but Im guessing Kahlua, vodka, and some cream.(please correct me if I am wrong) After filling the glass, there was still enough left in the shaker to almost fill it up again.

After drinks were served, our server brought us some bread out and then we placed our orders. I loved this bread! It seemed to have a hint of cinnamony sweetness to it. Im not sure what the spread was but it went well with it. We ate every morsel!

For dinner DD and I both agreed to have the Filet w/macaroni and cheese. Of course I had to take the advice of all my friends here on the dis. You Disers did us justice! It was one of the most wonderful filets I have ever eaten. It was cooked exactly as I and DD ordered (med) The sauce was so rich and tasty! Much better than the normal steak sauce you get served at other restaurants. So, here it is in all its glory... I mean saucey goodness

My Dh ordered the wood grilled pork tenderloin w/ a sweet potato puree and sauteed spinach. The server told DH that the pork would be medium to med rare and asked if that would be ok. Of course he said yes, he will not eat meat any other way. The presentation was nice and he said it was delicious and perfectly cooked. I had a bite of the spinach and sweet potato puree and it was fresh and good. I initially thought it would be a weird combination but I was wrong.

Now for the best finish ever! We were totally stuffed by the end of the meal, but we were on vacation so what the heck, we ordered dessert. DH and I split the chocolate cake w/ lavender ice cream. Before I go any further I just want to say I NEVER fight over dessert but this was no ordinary dessert! I was skeptical about the lavender ice cream at first but it was truly amazing! I thought it would have a strong lavender flavor but I was wrong again! The cake, ice cream, sauce, and cookie were devoured in less than 2 min. My husband hasn't looked at me the same way since LOL.

My DD ordered the Madagascar vanilla bean mousse w/ macerated strawberries. If there are some of you crazy people that happen to not like chocolate this is the way to go. I was only allowed one bite (it was really all I could handle at this point) and I was very pleased. I had to stop DD from licking the plate. Seriously! She loved it!!

Next up day 3 DHS
ASMu breakfast, Toy Story Pizza Planet, and 50's Primetime Cafe

LOVE to see reviews of one of my favorite places, brings back such wonderful memories!:goodvibes

great reveiws and pictures. so pleased to hear you liked the plaza as we are are planning to eat here on our forthcoming trip. the burgers look delicious!.

cant wait to read morepopcorn::

We loved The Plaza as well! You don't hear much about it but we were really impressed! Enjoy!:thumbsup2

Day 3 we visited Hollywood Studios! Before we left the resort we stopped by the food court at the ASMu. DD got a cheese danish and some juice. DH and I really aren't big breakfast eaters so we skipped it that morning. She said the danish was good but not the best.

We had lunch at Toy Story Pizza Planet. I had the Buzz meal deal with a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Dh and DD had the woody meal deal w/ rice crispy treat and sugar cookie. The nicest thing I have to say about this meal is the chocolate chip cookie. It was fresh and chewy w/ lots of chocolate chunks. DD seemed to have loved the rice crispy treat but DH was very disappointed w/ his cookie. His exact words about it " there is no sugar on this cookie. How can they call it a sugar cookie if it has no sugar on it?" Now on to the pizzas. They would have been ok but I thought the sauce was disgusting!!! I couldnt finish it, so I just had my salad (lettuce). Dh and DD agreed but they were hungry so they ate what they could stand. I personally would have preferred one of those cheap $1 pizzas in the frozen section of our local grocery store. That is just my opinion. The pictures make these pizzas look delish, but dont let them fool you!

I guess you can safely say that I will not eat here again.

For dinner we had reservations at 50's Primetime Cafe. Check in was simple and we were seated at a table w/ a Tv which was nice. Our server was Auntie OJ. She was awesome!!! Of course, I got scolded for taking pictures of our food so I had to be sneaky about it the rest of our meal. We started out with drinks. We all got sodas. Then we ordered: DH and DD tried the pot roast, I tried the fried chicken this time but I had corn instead of the greens. Dh thought the pot roast was good. DD liked it a little bit though she hated the celery and carrots on top. I had to eat them so she wouldnt get into trouble:rolleyes1 The chicken didnt taste like moms but it was ok. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good as well as the corn.

For dessert I had the angel food cake with fresh berries. It was excellent! The cake was moist and fresh. The berries were also fresh and sweet. I was very pleased with my choice. DD had the smores and she ate every bite of them. She didnt even let me try them:sad2: Dh had dads sundae. What can I say but SUGAR HIGH. He ate almost all of it and did not get sick. It was huge but I had to try it. Not too bad, never thought I would like caramel corn with ice cream but I learned something new.

Wow! I wasn't even hungry before I started reading!! :goodvibes

Thank you for your excellent pictures, and the especially nice, candid reviews. I'm looking forward to more! :thumbsup2

We love the Plaza too! The reuben is fantastic! When we were there in September last year, we tried the cookie dough milkshake, and it was great!! :cloud9:

Thanks for the reviews and pics. You might want to download Irfanview, its a free program used for resizing one or batches of pics, its really easy to use too.

Great reviews!!!!!
The zebratini looks delish:thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more

The meals from Jiko's look so yummy I'm wondering if I made the right choices for my up coming trip. Oh well, there's always next trip;)

Mmm... you're making me so hungry! All of the food looks good! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see Coral Reef. I've always wanted to eat there.

Thanks so much for the pics of The Plaza hamburger. I am already planning meals for our yet to be booked November quick trip. (We had to cancel Feb week long trip due to DH knee problem) Anyway ... I have been dieting (whoops WW - not a diet  a lifestyle!) and was looking forward to a hamburger at WDW. At first thought maybe Pecos Bills but I thought The Plaza would be a little better. OMG - that burger looked so good!

Now ... I also want a zebratini but won't be getting THAT in Magic Kingdom. I may have to add Jiko to my SOMEDAY file! It looked wonderful too. Will look for more of your reviews. Great job! :thumbsup2
