First time renting a car from MCO

Hi all. I've been searching the boards for an answer and can't seem to find it, so I apologize if this has been answered before.

We are renting a car from MCO for the first time this March. We get in around 9pm on a Wednesday. We usually take DME, so I'm not sure which route would be the best (528 or 417) at this time if the day to get to disney property. We are staying at all star music. We also want to make a quick stop at a grocery store or target. Any suggestions for routes and store locations? How much should we bring for tolls?

I put the resort address in the GPS and went that way. Either way you pass stores. There may be a particular exit for a Walmart superstore you may want.

I would take 417 it is less congested as far as traffic. There is a Super Target at exit 11 (Orange Blossom Trail). You can see the Target from the left side of the highway. You are only about 8 miles from ASM resort. 417 also is the most direct route to the All Star Music resort. I usually bring one of those M&M plastic tube containers with about $5.00 in quarters and about $8.00 in one dollar bills.

417 is definately the less congested of the 2 toll roads.
Follow the "South Exit" signs out of the airport.
Depending on which side of the airport you arrive on, you may end up circling around the airport to get to the South Exit onto FL-417

If you have a smartphone you'll have a map program. I downloaded an additional one called Waze. It is great. It takes into account traffic so it will automatically route you the appropriate way. I used it travelling home yesterday from work and it routed me down side streets to an on ramp further down the highway. It saved me 20 minutes sitting in traffic. I love this app.
