First time renter questions

We are renting points from a friend this year. We have a reservation number and all our names on the reservation as well as the DVC owner (our Friend). Does her name have to be on the reservation? I can't link the reservation to us until I add her as a friend in MDE and that's not a problem but I wanted find out first. Also if her name has to be on the reservation, how does check in work? Does she have to be there?

Her name doesn't have to be on the reservation, but she will receive the confirmation email from DVC, which she needs to forward to you. Then, you can enter the confirmation number into MDE and it will show the reservation. If you want the dining plan or Magical express she will have to set it up for you.

so we can get the dining plan? I was told by a lot of friends who have DVC that we can't get free dining. Once we book our flights she's going to add ME for us.

You can purchase the dining plan, but you can't get free dining. The owner will have to add it to your reservation, and it has to be paid in full at the time she adds it.

You can buy the dining plan, there is no free dining plan offered anytime for DVC owners.
