We've got a trip planned for the first part of June with 6 adults and 7 kids. We've got ressies @ Rainforest. They're putting us in the same room, but will have to split us up since our party was so big. Anyways, just looking for some unbiased feedback on Rainforest. What do you recommend to eat, not to eat, etc.....What's your favorite thing about the restaurant?

You will get mixed reviews for RFC. Personally, it is one of my family's favorite restaurants. It is a must do while we are there. Now for recommendations.

Appy~ we usually get the Awesome Appetizer Adventure and split between all of us. But my favorite part is the Chimi Cha-Cha! I love those things. So very yummy.

DBF and I always order our own entree and then split them so we get to try more than one thing at each dinner. We do this almost everywhere we eat, so Disney is not different. For an Entree, we suggest the Bamba's Barbecue Wrap. It comes in either shredded beef or chicken. We have ordered both and the chicken is by far better. We actually like this so much that one of us orders it on every trip and we buy the BBQ in the gift shop so we can make it home too. We are pathetic. LOL. The only think I would suggest not getting is the Blue Mountain Chicken Sandwich. I don't know why but neither one of liked this. It was dry and just not good. Not real reason but I just remember that we really did not like it.

I hope you have as much fun as we do.

I'm gonna be as honest as possible. Skip Dinner all togeather. Desert is the main course here. You must have the VOLCANO.:worship::worship::worship: Point end of story. BUT if I'm being biasest here then I'm guilty. The food is good. I love ribs but was not pleased. My opinion only. Hambugers are real good and the chicken is also good. Now you must make a decision. If desert is in the picture then eat lite. Can't have both you will be sorry if you do. I know I did.

DH and I love Rainforest Cafe. We have been to both locations. We are going to go again in Sept and our planing on doing T-rex as well. The first year we went to the one at Animal Kingdom, I got the Ceaser Chicken Salad, it was very dry and I didn't like it at all our serve switched it out for Ribs and did not charge us any extra which is awesome, plus he was really really nice about it. The ribs were awesome, I love ribs, I ordered them a lot when I am out and I think Rainforest still beats places like Chilis and Fridays. Got Cocktails both times if your into that the Electric Lemonade was really good. I don't remember what DH got except that it was orange colored and in a marigitia glass and was yummy.

We hit RFC at AK every time we visit & love it for Breakfast (Kids adore Tonga Toast... an ultra sweet version of French Toast) and Lunch -- their Burgers are to DIE for after all those counter service meals.

I feel RFC gives a better value for your money than many of the other places. However, with so many kids, I'd get all the adults on the same page before going and agree to watch the little extras (novelty cups etc) as they add up the bill FAST. It's cheaper to promise the kids a small toy form the gift shop & it's a lot more portable than the giant cups the kiddos insist on keeping and letting you deal with. (The prices in the gift shop are very reasonable for the Disney area too.)

Which RFC are you booked at? We tried DTD once and didn't care for the service, cold food or the wait to get in. Have been to AK one no less than 5 times and never been disappointed (although if walking in drenched from the rain you'll freeze from the AC)

We've been to the one in DTD several times. My family likes it, what can I say. We stick to the basics - burgers, salads, etc.. I think it's a fun place to go for a decent meal.

We were there for lunch today while at AK - it was good food, a neat experience. Very noisy with the "thunderstorm" that goes off every 20 minutes and "wakes the animals up" but it was cool...food was not outstanding, but it was good, and it's worth a visit. DS12 had cedar-plank grilled salmon and I had jungle chop salad (it's huge and chopped into itty bitty pieces which I loved) I also got an "orangesicle" which is orange sherbet blended with nonfat vanilla frozen yogurt, it was so good.

The gift shop will be a HUGE distraction!

All in all I'd say its a must do if you've never done it before, DS thought it was awesome.

I made our reservations for the DTD one not thinking about us being at Animal Kingdom that day. I may still call and change it. Are they basically the same?

Color me in the camp of not going to RF, but that may be because there is one 20 minutes from my house here in CT. I find the food OK - their app sampler gives a good cross section of that part of the menu, and their salads are pretty solid. They used to have a good BBQ chicken wrap - not sure if it is still on the menu. It seems pricey for what it is, but once one is in central florida, isn't that the expectation?

I would guess that they are very similar, but the AK location doesn't seem as busy... or perhaps it's a larger dining room. We only ate at the DTD one once and it may have been a fluke, but everything went wrong with that meal.

The AK one makes for a nice break from the heat of the park too.
