first time question

Hello.
I have never been to DL only WDW. What will the crowds be like in oct. probally columbus day week.

what is your suggestion of the best Disney hotel to stay at.

I've only been to DL once, and that was last week so I can't comment on October, but we LOVED the Grand Californian.

Not only is the hotel gorgeous and the service amazing, it is so convenient. I couldn't believe how easy it was to walk to both parks and Downtown Disney from GC. If you forget something in your room or want to head back for a break - it's so quick and simple. I would stay there again just for the location. It's absolutely perfect.

I'm a DL veteran and have stayed at each of the DL hotels and have to say the Grand Californian is the BEST by far! It is much more expensive but you truly get what you pay for.

I've been to DL in October when it was absolutely wonderful, no crowds, perfect weather, an absolute dream vacation. I've also been there in October when it was so crowded I felt like I was going crazy. If you're going on a weekend prepare for crowds. I've found that on the weekends a lot of locals come out if the weather is good in the late fall (same for early spring).

If during the week in October, it shouldn't be too busy. The weekends will be busy and crowded, more so if the weather is nice.

If you want to stay onsite, the Grand Californian is the by far the best of the three DLR hotels.

If you stay offsite, I recommend the HoJo on Harbor Blvd. It is the best value of any of the nearby hotels.

Be sure to eat at the Blue Bayou in DL. You can make PS 60 days out. Check in a little early and ask for a table beside the water, it's great!!
