First Time - Port of Miami

We will be doing our first cruise out of this port. We are experienced with PC and have that down. We usually do WDW pre/post cruise, but won’t be doing that since it’s not PC. It’s always been pretty seamless and stress free getting back and forth with Disney transportation. I’m starting to think going from Miami will be more challenging.

Any advice? Where do you stay pre-cruise? How do you get to the port? It’s not as as simple as take an Uber as we have 3 kids that need car seats.

Disney has three partner hotels in Miami, which you can find at the bottom of this page:

If you book one of those hotels through DCL or through your travel agent, then you can take advantage of DCL transportation from the airport to the hotel, to the port, and then back to the hotel. It doesn't work if you book the hotel independently, though. And it's only good if you're flying into MIA, too.

We are sailing on Saturday and chose the EB Hotel which is one of the ones Disney partners with but we booked it on our own to use Chase points to pay. It's conveniently located close to MIA Airport, we have a late arrival Friday night and they offer a free shuttle from MIA to their hotel. If we had more time with an earlier flight, we would have stayed at the Marriott Biscayne Bay. One of the room options there is a view of the port/bay and I thought it would be lovely to wake up and look out at the Magic. This is the hotel we had booked in March of 2020 when covid first hit and our cruise was cancelled.
Unfortunately I have to work Friday so EB will have to do.
We plan to Uber to the port. I wouldn't mind booking through DCL and using their transfers but I'd rather pay with points whenever we can. We like free!!
