First time Pin Trading

Hi all!

My 2 boys (ages 6 and 5) are interested in Pin Trading during our upcoming trip. I have never done any pin trading and it seems rather expensive. But I think it will be fun for them. So I need some advice...my boys are Toy Story Maniacs and I've seen a couple of starter kids on-line. One is a Buzz Lightyear and one is the LGMs. Since we are less than 30 days from our trip, I was wondering if we might be better off getting our starter sets when we get to Disney. Does anyone know if they are selling any Toy Story or Buzz sets in the Parks right now? Ideally I'd like them to start right away and we will be at the Magic Kingdom on the first day. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes..of course they have buzz and toy story..
pin trading IS expensive..and then again..so is Disney.

Thank you for your quick response. That is great!! Think I will wait till we get there to buy them. And you are exactly right! But we all still go, don't we!

I think it will be fun for the boys! My little guy is a little shier and I think it will be fun for him to HAVE to interact with the CMs to trade. My niece was trading during our last trip and she got to meet so many people. And she got some great pins. I think the boys are as excited to trade with their cousin when they get home!!

p.s.the smartest thing to do..if you want to economize at all...
is if they want the toy story..buy it for their collection..
but..for trading..trust me..buy something that they dislike...
as they will not mind trading it...
at their age..if they trade something..they really like...
they will be miserable later..and thus..so will you...and you will not have to grab last minute pins on the fly..for them to trade.

Funny you should mention that...I was thinking about that last night. So I thought I would get them the TS starter set and try to buy another set that they won't like as much (the princesses come to mind, but that may be pushing it for my two boys ). I'm going to check out a few of the ebay sellers on the reputable sellers thread. Thanks for the advice!!!

back to your question.....
normally the chasers are either on a cm lanyard..or they are in those mystery pins that are sold for 1.00 with a 30 buck purchase.
