though this will be about my 50th trip to orlando, it's the first time i'm planning on any serious shopping in orlando (other than for disney souvenirs)...
in the past, we've always gone to Detroit on our way home from WDW....
and anyone who's ever been in suburban detroit knows how great the shopping is there (well at least something is good there...)...
but we won't be heading to detroit this time, so we'll have to shop in orlando....
so now comes the planning for that....
i have to figure out which stores and where they are so i have a plan of attack before we get there...
i need stores that carry tall men's clothes, shoes for giant narrow feet (both men and women), tall girl's clothes (i.e. extra extra long jeans), things like that...
in detroit, i know exactly where to shop....i haven't a clue where to find these things in orlando...
i know there's a casual male across from the universal sweet tomatoes...but casual male, while it carries lots of big man clothes, doesn't have much for the very tall man.....
alternatively, i could do mail order and have some things shipped to the hotel...
i wonder if there's a nordstrom rack in orlando...they have great deals on shoes and carry large size shoes....
also regular nordstrom is good..
just thinking out loud here....the preliminary list of stores, or types of stores that i'd like to find:
Nordstrom Rack (for shoes)
Nordstrom (for shoes)
Kohls (great selection of men's trousers - dockers, etc)
New Balance (sport shoes)
Casual Male (tall man clothes)
Jockey (maybe in one of the outlet malls?)
Maidenform (in an outlet mall?)
Make up (not sure which brand she uses - clinique?)
Chicos (nice mid-priced women's clothes)
Petite women's clothes (for DDIL - who isn't even 4'10" tall)...she likes to wear skirts...i wonder who even sells skirts in the US anymore)...
i'm sure there are other stores....this is far from comprehensive...
but i need a plan, i don't want to waste a lot of time running around....we need to be organized...
the most important thing is clothes for DH and DS....and shoes for DH, DS and DD....
everything else i can get here....but clothes and shoes are simply not available for them here....for that matter, it's pretty hard to find things for them in the states....but it's possible if you know where to go...
and that's the trick...planning..
