though this will be about my 50th trip to orlando, it's the first time i'm planning on any serious shopping in orlando (other than for disney souvenirs)...

in the past, we've always gone to Detroit on our way home from WDW....
and anyone who's ever been in suburban detroit knows how great the shopping is there (well at least something is good there...)...

but we won't be heading to detroit this time, so we'll have to shop in orlando....
so now comes the planning for that....
i have to figure out which stores and where they are so i have a plan of attack before we get there...

i need stores that carry tall men's clothes, shoes for giant narrow feet (both men and women), tall girl's clothes (i.e. extra extra long jeans), things like that...

in detroit, i know exactly where to shop....i haven't a clue where to find these things in orlando...
i know there's a casual male across from the universal sweet tomatoes...but casual male, while it carries lots of big man clothes, doesn't have much for the very tall man.....

alternatively, i could do mail order and have some things shipped to the hotel...

i wonder if there's a nordstrom rack in orlando...they have great deals on shoes and carry large size shoes....
also regular nordstrom is good..

just thinking out loud here....the preliminary list of stores, or types of stores that i'd like to find:

Nordstrom Rack (for shoes)
Nordstrom (for shoes)
Kohls (great selection of men's trousers - dockers, etc)
New Balance (sport shoes)
Casual Male (tall man clothes)
Jockey (maybe in one of the outlet malls?)
Maidenform (in an outlet mall?)
Make up (not sure which brand she uses - clinique?)
Chicos (nice mid-priced women's clothes)
Petite women's clothes (for DDIL - who isn't even 4'10" tall)...she likes to wear skirts...i wonder who even sells skirts in the US anymore)...

i'm sure there are other stores....this is far from comprehensive...

but i need a plan, i don't want to waste a lot of time running around....we need to be organized...
the most important thing is clothes for DH and DS....and shoes for DH, DS and DD....
everything else i can get here....but clothes and shoes are simply not available for them here....for that matter, it's pretty hard to find things for them in the states....but it's possible if you know where to go...
and that's the trick...planning.. :)

searching online i found the following:

Nordstrom Rack at Millenia Crossing (store #778)
4036 Eastgate Drive
Orlando, FL 32839
321.558.3800
Hours:
Mon-Sat 10am-9pm
Sun 11am-7pm
i guess Millenia Crossing must be near the Mall at Millenia...

Nordstrom at The Florida Mall (store #767)
8001 South Orange Blossom Trail
Orlando, FL 32809
407.888.7889
Hours:
Mon-Sat 10am-9pm
Sun 11:30am-6pm

Kohls - is there one near the florida mall?

New Balance Factory Store
Factory Store Orlando
Prime Outlets International
4955 International Drive Suite 113
Orlando, FL 32819
407-903-9551

Ecco shoes - i think i found a store in the mall at millenia
and also an outlet store in the premium outlets mall
ECCO SHOES MILLENIA
CONROY ROAD SPACE #E123 4200
32839 ORLANDO

ECCO ORLANDO PREMIUM OUTLET
VINELAND AVE 8200
32821 ORLANDO

ecco is also carried at nordstrom and nordstrom rack...

here's the link to the list of stores at the premium outlet:
http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/store_listing.asp?id=17

so maybe what we'll do is go to the mall at millenia and millinia crossing..
nordstrom and nordstrom rack (i think one is at millenia and the other near the florida mall)..
the premium outlet mall..
and maybe one of the big premium outlets at the top of i-drive...

of the above, i've only ever been to the premium outlets...never to any of the others....

meanwhile, i've lost my GPS device that i used last summer in orlando....it's not in my computer bag....it has to be somewhere in the house...but where???????????

DH is tall (and big) - always seems to do well at TJ Maxx. There is one at the top of I drive near the premium outlet (the one that was belz) but we prefer the one at the loop, kissimee.

We always have a look in casual male but it is dear imo - they do have a sale rail though. There is a casual male opposite the florida mall we prefer to the i drive one.

TJ maxx carries ralph lauren tall range and large shoes.

good suggestion!!!! TJ Maxx does have a tall mens area - i've shopped at the one in detroit...
where is the "loop"? or what is the loop?

DH is 6'7" and wears an american size 14 shoe.....
DD has an even more difficult footwear problem since she wears an american size 11 shoe but super narrow (triple A), pretty much impossible to find anywhere...

Look at the website attheloop.com

It is basically an area of shops and restaurants - not a mall but big stores all in one area.

We like it as it is further from the tourist areas and there seem to be better bargains.

I'm trying to think where else DH buys clothes - he doesn't buy in uk, stocks up annually in US.

We do visit both premium outlets - I know he has got US 13 shoes in rockport and tall tops/shirts from ralph lauren outlet.

Outdoor world at festival bay mall - DH has shorts and chinos from there - not sure if tall sizing or just xl.

wow - this has never ever happened to me in my 17 years of internet work (i work in IT as well as play on it)...
i just tried to get to the attheloop.com website and they have blocked anyone in israel from accessing their website..
i am in total shock.....
they have a global block on all israel and they refer to users in israel as "filth"..
i am in shock....
i wonder if the company is aware that their website is blocked that way...

i am stunned...time for a bit of investigation having nothing at all to do with shopping...

You won't have problems finding shoes for DH, i'm an American size 15 and i've always found plenty of choice. I usually get dress shoes from Kenneth Cole at Premium Outlets.

is that the mall that's close to WDW? just on the other side of I-4?

I've just checked the address and it is attheloop.com - just a bog standard mall directory page.

Address is 3208 north john young parkway, Kissimee, FL 34741

yes, i checked it too..
and i contacted my internet provider and they got the blocked screen as well..
and they checked with two other major IPs here, who got the same screen..

so i found the owners of the mall (wilder) and i tried calling without success..
so i sent an email (with the offensive screen included..
we'll see if they respond...

i'm still shocked... :)

Dh is 6feet 10 and he has never managed to get trousers to fit, seems the waist gets larger but the legs get shorter, he is a 38/38 but the minute you go to a 38 waist the leg goes to a 36.
Shoes not a problem he always manages to get them and he is a US 16 timberland boots were a really good buy for him he bought 3 pairs two years ago at half the price he would get them for here.

We went to casual male and they had the same leg/waist issue. We have been to both of the main outlet malls as well as the florida mall and all we found was the same issue. The guy in the shop said he could order them in for him to try but it would have meant paying for them and then going back to the store to collect them and even then they had a limited range in his size. That was the casual male opposite the florida mall.

Here in the UK he normally gets trousers etc from High and Mighty or online thourgh ebay.
