We are planning our tenth trip for this August. We will be taking my DD (21) and her friend as well as my DH and I. We have always stayed onsite but last summer, we found it a bit cramped. We don't spend much time in our room, however, but it is still tight. I have booked the 2 bedroom/2 bath at the Staybridge Suites Lake Buena Vista and all the reviews look great. I am a bit nervous about being disappointed if I stay offsite but I really want the extra room. Any comments or recommendations???

Has anyone stayed here? I'm hoping for a few good experiences...but I'll take any opinions, lol...

No need to worry! Staybridge is GREAT! We normally stay at Staybridge near the Convention Center but have done L.B. as well. THE EXTRA SPACE! FULL KITCHEN! FREE BREAKFAST BUFFET! We love it. Our normal group is 8-10 extended family members and we dislike traditional hotel rooms (2 beds, 4 walls). I have a July 2Br/2bath reserved at $134night. It will be a welcome relief after paying $110/night at Pop for a room where we have to turn sideways to pass each other. We do four days at Pop while we do the Disney thing. After that we move to Staybridge for the rest of our vacation.

My kids are so spoiled that they think every hotel should be like STAYBRIDGE. They tolerate staying on-site a few days but all they talk of is moving for the 2nd part of the trip.

Thanks for the feedback! I have Pop booked as well as Staybridge and I will have to make my final decision soon. We also got a great rate--$124 night for a 2 bed/2 bath. I'm quite sure we will try offsite...thanks again!

Staybridge LBV has a great location (near grocery/liquor/restaurants and minutes to WDW entrance), decent accommodations (a little dated but nice enough) and some nice perks (free breakfast/free internet/late check-out if available). The only down side I can foresee is that your daughter and her friend are going to be "land locked" once you return to your hotel. If staying on-site, the girls could be in the parks or DTD for example, while you and your husband return to your resort or find your own fun. Because you're traveling with younger people who may want to split up from you occasionally, I'd suggest on-site accommodations. Just sayin':3dglasses

Hmmmm...good point! I hadn't considered that side of the issue. I'll have to chat to them to decide if their own bathroom is worth it...hahaha. Thanks for the insight!

Have you ever stayed at Pop Century? It's really small - OK for 2 people, but no way would 4 adults manage! So, assuming you're comparing 2 rooms at Pop to the Staybridge Suites, the price at Staybridge Suites has to be much cheaper, so just apply the savings to an occasional cab ride if the group wants to split up.

Offsite is just fine - enjoy your extra space! :thumbsup2

Thanks Mareed. We have stayed at Pop several times and have always managed OK with 4 adults. We keep the room very organized and we only sleep there, lol. I am actually comparing the price of one room at Pop to the Staybridge (2 bedroom/bath suite) and there is very little difference. I have a PIN as well for Pop and it is still only about $100 cheaper for the entire time (10 nights). We normally get the dining plan as well but we want to try some outside restaurants this time--make it a totally different trip. We'll still get our Disney time but we may spend more time relaxing by the pool (and shopping--with two 21 year old females!!).

Thanks Mareed. We have stayed at Pop several times and have always managed OK with 4 adults.

You know, I'm usually much better at realizing that everyone is different and I should have said that there's no way that I could stay there with 4 adults! :goodvibes

I'm glad you didn't take offense at my comment and shared your different experience. Since you have stayed there with 4 adults, then you know exactly what you're comparing to. :thumbsup2

Good luck with your decision, and don't be afraid to try offsite. There are many offsite converts on this board!
