Alot of firsts this trip. First time in a non-disney hotel. First time off campus. When SeaWorld announced their military salute I hoped Universal would be soon behind so I could combine a trip and see both. Universal did, offering great prices on 5 day tickets. We decided to go the last week of Sept. so we could fit in a Halloween party at WDW (have to get my Disney fix somehow
) and Horror nights at Universal. I found a two bedroom villa at Hilton Grand Vacation Club for the week through AFVC which was a steal of a deal. My sister decided to take vacation and bring her family so we were 8 people all together. We have vacationed at Disney for four different weeks through the years. Each time we stay on property and make PS's for character breakfasts, special dinners, firework cruises ect. This means a few years inbetween trips. Since we had a big, blowout trip to WDW just this last March, this was to be a budget trip.
Sept 26, Sat. - The plan is to leave tomorrow early, really early, like 5am so we can make it to Orlando in the afternoon. We get all packed up late and decide we are pumped up to just start driving while the kids sleep. So we drive from 11pm on stopping at a rest area for a few hours sleep in the night. No traffic and no whinning, quite the winning combination. Only trouble is, we aren't as young as we used to be.
