So I am going solo with my four kids t Disney, atleast Im planning to. August of 2013. Its not my first time, but I feel as though it is for some reason. We have stayed in ASM family suites, boardwalk inn, saratoga etc ...

I cant afford the villa this time and quite frankly a little over staying at ASM. What other resort can I cheaply stay in, that is part of Disney. I read Port Orleans, Riverside is even cheaper than ASM. TRUE? I guess I shouldbegin w the facts: I plan to stay fpr atleast 6-7 days, most likely to all 4 parks. I would love to go to Legoland, but transportation to get there is an issue.

Tons of questions ... Resort? Should I park hop?

How old are your children? I'm assuming your flying in and solely using the Disney transportation.

hi - i did a mom & kids trip - w/the baby being 5 months old and the oldest was 13 - we stayed at po riverside - we liked it because w/only myself & the kids we all had to go back to the room together - so there was no pressure to have big dinners & the food court there is great - everyone could get what they wanted - we do like french quarter - but riverside had a bigger food court - we did have one or two meals at epcot - but most of the time we went back to resort - i also liked the 'private pool' a lot less hectic than the theme pool -

5 people can stay at POR resort and it is cheaper than staying in a suite at ASM.

AoA.. It's new and every one can have their own bed. Two bathrooms for convenience. Go with the hopper, this way you can take advantage of going to two parks when there an EMH. Rent a car when you go outside Disney. I read somewhere that Swan/Dolphin you rent a car there.. I think it's Alamo??

Alamo/National have 2 rental sites, Dolphin and Disney Car Care near Poly. It might be difficult renting a car depending on how many car seats she'll need.

OP-
POR-Riverside would be your cheapest option. The Alligator Bayou section has rooms with 2 queens and a murphy bed. The rooms come with a small fridge, and coffee service. I love POR, it's my fav moderate. You can get loads of info on the POR thread, and great pics too.
POR also has a boat to DTD, movies on the lawn at night, and a fun entertainer in the lounge some evenings.

I would say POR or AoA. I would wait to get hoppers until you get there and decide if you need them.

With AoA you have to be careful what building you get in. The pricing on some of the rooms there can run pretty steep. I too think that POR is probably going to be your best bet out of the moderate pricing level. If you think you are going to come back to the room to eat or take a break, I'd get the hoppers if your budget will allow.
