First time making reservations 11 months out, help

I'm a newbie at making reservations 11 months out, and I can't seem to locate a new planner to download? We didn't have enough points for WDW in 2007, so I'm a bit rusty at this .

If I want to go to my home resort from November 22-28, 2008, do I start making day-by-day reservations on December 23 (check-out day 11 months prior)? It is a Sunday, so I think MS is closed? Then the next day is Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Will I need to wait until December 26 to call to try and book the first four nights, or will MS be open on Christmas Eve day?

I can call MS tomorrow afternoon to ask, but now I'm starting to think about it now, and was hoping that the experts here would have a simple answer. Thanks in advance for any help!

You can download a planner like the one you'll find at www.caskbill.com. You can set up your dates and then click on the Vacation Plan option. I just did this (took about 20 seconds) and it indicates that you can reserve the first two days on Monday, December 24. The next two days on Wednesday, December 26. Then add a day each subsequent day to complete on Saturday, December 29.

Thank you so much for your fast reply . I will download the planner and set my alarm to call on Christmas Eve day! I can't believe I have to wait a whole year before we can go, but I'm sure it will go by quickly. Thanks again!

I am new to DVC as well and I downloaded the planner and it works great. I have a follow-up question with regards to making ressies. Should you reserve 1 day at a time or the whole trip at once?

Depends on where you want to stay, what type of accommodations and time of year. It also depends on your comfort level with risk taking. If that is Thanksgiving week at a small resort like BCV or VWL, or you want BWV Standard View then day by day will definitely help.

What time of year, resort and accommodation size are you looking at?

I can't find any mention of MS hours on the DVC member site. I feel Internet challenged today. Can anyone confirm that the hours are still

Denise...don't feel bad! I have problems finding those hours every time on the DVC Member site. According to the site, you are correct with those hours of operation for MS.

By the way, I found them by clicking on My Membership tab, then clicking on Account Help. In the first part of that section there's a link to a pop up with the MS hours.

Maybe they are someplace else easier to find but I don't know where that would be.
