I am usually one of those people who plan everything for my Disney trips. Well never thought i'd be in the midst of divorce but here I am. I have been so busy I havent gone nuts planning.

This is my first trip on my own with the kids 7 +10 using TIW so only planned a few sit downs, gonna enjoy the F+W Fest. Bringing a friend from work.

I hope to be able to get on that plane relaxed able to just decide the day before which park to visit and not rushing to dinner reservations. We are doing MNSSHP on 10/31/. Staying at BWV and BLT. I will admit I did join touring plans over the wknd .

Here's to a much needed vacation !!!!

Have a great time! I'm a big planner - lots of folders with notes - every vacation day planned out by the hour. The last trip we went on my kids asked me not to plan a single day. I was stressed before we went but we actually had a great time and we were very flexible. I did have a couple of dinner reservations because I couldn't help myself and we did have to cancel a few of them because we decided to do something different, but we canceled either the night before or early in the morning so I didn't feel too bad about it. Have fun!

Hi Debrn,
I understand being a planner and when you don't do that for a trip you sometimes feel like something is missing. :scared1: However, some of the best trips I been on are those with the least amount of planning, especially to places I have been several times.

It sounds like you have the main focus in mind, relaxing and having fun. Just keep that first and everyone will have a great time. Enjoy! :thumbsup2

I usually over plan our trips but often have had the most fun on days when we've thrown the plan away! Have a great time!

You need some R & R. Go with the flow and really enjoy yourself. :thumbsup2

I'm a planner too but I've found the looser I allow my plans the more fun my family has. We may not get as much accomplished but we have more of those "family moments". Rather than just winging it use your reservations to create a loose plan - such as what park what day and a few must do's. With older kids everything doesn't have to be as well planned.

I am in the same situation and am anxious to plan a vacation for DD and me in July/August timeframe. I think we will need it - I need it now quite frankly. Enjoy yourself. Relax. Maybe you should treat yourself to a spa day.

We are going Nov.14-21 and all I have planned is which park for the day (based on TGM green parks) and 1 ADR per day. We will just go and do whatever, whenever! It just seems too stressful to me to plan hour by hour itineraries.

Sounds like you just need to relax and go with the flow. You will be surprised how relaxing WDW can be without planning everything.

We schedule a couple of ADR's and the rest is just going with the flow. No rushing around and I'm usually not exhausted when I leave.

Have a great trip!

I am a planner too. But this trip we are throwing caution to the wind and just going:upsidedow

But to be totally honest we are doing things a bit different this time. Usually we go during Free dining and upgrade to DDxP , so meal planning is kinda a must. Also we have stayed at Pop-this time we are staying at SSR. So we are planning on making relaxation the main focus and since we have been quite a few times in the last few years, we don't have that "WE'RE GONNA MISS SOMETHING!!" anxiety

I think we will both be fine:hug::goodvibes

I usually only plan now if we have guests with us. If it's just us, we "go with the flow". I'm even going to try our December trip with NO ADRS!!! We are going to just "wing it" and see if we can get in at most places or not. If not....we'll dine in our villa.

I seldom plan, My motto is whatever happens, happens. Just enjoy life!
Have a nice trip.

I am a planner...it is almost a hobby for me at times. I am in the process of planning our June 2011 trip. Mostly I just plan ADR's since we do the DDP on our trips and where to stay. Once in a while I will throw in a "surprise" day for the kids. Both girls have done Dolphins in depth and loved it!...me too! :thumbsup2

I try to do the parks as whatever feels good that day...if we don't make it to all of them no big deal we will be back next year or the year after!!

Just have fun with your kids...they grow up too soon and then they don't want to go on vacation with you:scared1::sad1:
