I have been to WDW many times as a child and as an adult. This November I will be visiting WDW with my own daughter (she will be 3 1/2). My family wants to stay at Port Orleans. Any feedback regarding this resort and suggestions/recommendations for our entire stay will be very much appreciated!

I am assuming POFQ and not POR - right.

both are beautiful resorts and you will love either.

I think the pool at POFQ is a little better for a 3 1/2 year old than POR.

have you send these pictures

por

there is also a new program but I think she is too young to participate.

both have nice food courts. the only restuarant is at POR.
they both have boats and bikes to rent - well I know POR does.

there is a boat ride from PO (R and FQ) to DD. for FREE!!! :wizard:

We went to POR when my twins were 5 yo...we had a great time...POFQ was closed at the time. One thing I like to do is get the kids life preservers for the pool- they can use the slide with confidence, and you don't have to worry as much. I do think you might have to go over to POR to get one though. :sunny:

Great resort. Have a great vacation.

My boys, 6 and 8, ADORE POR! It is a lot of fun. LOADS of walking. Take the stroller EVERYWHERE! Transportation can be a long walk. I love the boat to DTD. It takes half an hour but the food choices are great. I am not a fan of Boatwrights. We ate there one night and no one was thrilled with their entrees.

Take water, take a stroller, take your patience and take your joy. Disneyworld through the eyes of a child is a whole new and wonderous place. There are no touring plans that will always work because most of the fun is stopping at the odd places to see the wonderful stuff.

My Gene-Gene (now 8) went when he was three. He was afraid of Mickey but saw Tigger and escaped from my hand (Terror, terror!) and ran up and hugged Tigger yelling, "Tiggor, Tiggor, I WIV oo Tiggor!". I just was so happy for him. After that characters were not a problem. He thought that when the characters came to sign autographs at the Crystal Palace (go) they were coloring with him. He would color furiously when they stopped to color with them.

He wanted to ride the Carosel 10 times and we did. He was not a fan of Dumbo. Your little one will have you in stitches.

You will see less, do less, and nap more than any other trip. You will also have more fun in DW than you have ever had.

You will see Disney as you have never seen it before!! Thru the eyes of a child!! This summer was our daughters first time, she was 2 1//2. I must say that even tho I did this with my boys, there was something even more spectacular through a little girls eyes (those princess's enthralled her). You will have a wonderful time, and just remember to move at a much slower pace. Stop and smell all those flowers and look for the bunnies (a new family pastime!)

Your gonna have a blast!!

This will be my first trip with my two girls too. They will be 4 & 6 when we go. We are also staying at POFQ in November. I am looking so forward to it! :cheer2:

Hi! We just got back from POFQ (Feb 4-11) and absolutely loved it! The transportation was great because the FQ is first on (before POR) and first off. It never took an excessive amount of time to get to the parks.

My DDs (just turned 4 & 7) loved the pool ... they have a nice-sized water slide (not too big) and a kiddie pool. They also have a ton of different sized life jackets. My DD4 used one and could paddle all around in the 4 feet forever. They also have a nice playground right in the middle of the resort. Everything is close because the resort is so small. The food court has a tv (always playing disney channel :) and a coloring area with small tables for the kids. They were also giving out Mardi Gras beads to the girls everytime we went for breakfast (great Mickey Mouse Waffles!)

As for the parks ... my DD (just turned 4) loved the characters! She had the best time with her autograph book. I bought small, blank, spiral scapbooks and let them decorate them with stickers on the plane. She really loved all of the parades too.
Rides ... she really didn't like the darker rides (inside) even pooh bear and peter pan. She loved Dumbo, Barnstormer, Small World, Magic Carpets, Triceratops Spin etc. She loved the fountains at Epcot (the main one & the jumping ones by the Imagination Pav). You just have to take it at their pace ... def bring or rent a stroller! This will help immensely!

Let me know if you have any questions! Happy to help! Have fun!

We too will be traveling to WDW for the first time with our children. Our oldest will be 3.5 too! And we are also going in Nov. :thumbsup2
