We made an offer on a resale at BCV - despite DH's misgivings. I keep telling him that once he goes he'll be fully sold - so for our first time "home", should we go with a Studio or 1BR? It will just be us - (no kids!) - for two days or so, so I'm sure the Studio would be large enough. But, would he get a better sense of DVC and the real difference between our old vacations in a hotel-type- room vs more of a condo flavor with the 1-BR? Do you feel like you're in a regular hotel room in a Studio?

If you have the points and want to show DH the advantages of DVC....I would vote for the 1BR, especially if you are only going for 2-3 days.;)

Go for the 1br.

I'm not saying that a studio isn't nice but if your mission on this trip is to impress then go with the 1br.

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time and don't worry if everything doesn't go as planned.

Definately the 1 bedroom! It is especially impressive at OKW!

I'll agree with everyone here. Go for the 1BR if you have the points.

The studios are nice but still basically just a hotel room. The 1BRs and up are really a homme away from home.

Have a great trip home!

Go all out and get the 1 bedroom and he will be hooked! Welcome Home :)

Our first trip after joining was to a Studio at OKW because that was all that was available on short notice. We opted to cancel our one week stay at Y&B Club and put the money toward the DVC purchase (about $1500).

While we liked the studio, we really knew we made the right decision when we stayed at the OKW 1BR on our next visit. I could not believe how much space there was! There is nothing like having a LR and kitchen and dining space (even if you don't use it ;) ) The washer/dryer in the 1BR and hottub adds to the convenience.

As people have said, after you have stayed in a 1BR a studio is not the same. Nevertheless, when my wife and I go alone, the studio is much better than a room at WDW and really saves points. After all, you have a mini fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. :)

If you want to convince DH and don't mind using the points, take the 1BR! He WILL be convinced that DVC is worth it. Save the studio stay for later.

An OKW one bedroom would really have the 'shock and awe' effect when walking in.

The other one bedrooms are nice, they just aren't in the same class as OKW rooms.

I had tried to convince my DH it was smart for us! Well 4 trips and 4 years later he finally agreed to "give in" to my prodding!

My story is unique for most I think but worked great for us.

We planned for 8 months a cruise DCL - for out 10th anniversary! I am somewhat frugal - looked for good airfare, and good cruise rate (fam. of 4) -nothing fancy but rather a good deal! BOOKED IT - not knowing I would buy DVC within a year!

Convinced DH and we were off!

First I looked for a resale with 200 - 230 points at Boardwalk, or BCV... "found it - BWV - 220" Wanted a little in reserve and ended up having 2 years worth of points avail!

Decided our cruise rate was really good and we would rent our points! - Within 4 days we had all 440 points accounted for rental!

This paid for our entire cruise! Including our planned EXTRAS!!!! Hubby finally agreed it was so smart for us to buy!!! And I am now the proud owner at BWV - 220!

It pays off, if you use it great! IF you rent it great! If you bank for a trade - great! Options are widespread!

He will agree I am sure!
