As far as restaurants - some of our favorites are Old Oyster Factory (strange we didn't like it our first trip, but really have enjoyed it a lot the last two times), Salty Dog, Wreck of Salty Dog (more upscale version of Salty Dog), Crazy Crab, San Miguels, Scotts and Stacks for breakfast. For some reason we didn't really care for Signe's.
In Savannah, we like Paula Deen's restaurant, the boarding house (can't remember name right now, but it is country food served family style) and the Shrimp Factory.
DW and myself are going to try something new for our upcoming June trip. We plan on cooking more meals at the resort. We will have a 1BR this trip. I always enjoy cooking breakfast when at the beach. Then we'll just make sandwiches to take over to the beach for lunch. One night we plan on cooking shrimp. There is a good seafood market on the left as you head down the road towards the bridge. One other night I might try cooking out some steaks on one of the grills. Other than that I figure San Miguels, Salty Dog and probably Oyster Factory.
We are doing something different this trip. We're driving down on Saturday and staying at the Hampton Inn at Sun City on Saturday. Then I figure we'll drive over to Savannah Saturday evening and have dinner at Paula Deens or the Shrimp Factory. Then check in early at our resort on Sunday morning. I told DW even if our unit isn't ready we can still drive over the beach house and spend the day on the beach. I'm really looking forward to this trip.
