First time going to Disneyland - Need help! :-)

Hi everyone!

We are Walt Disney World regulars; however, this will be our first time to Disneyland. I just have some questions that I hoped you guys could help us out with. We are thinking either the beginning of December or January. First off how is the weather during both months, and does one month in regard to weather out way the other? Also, in regards to the Christmas decorations, parade, fireworks, and ride overlays, are they still up and running during the beginning of January? If they are when is the usual time they take them down? Thanks again in advance to anyone who can offer any form of advice to us!

Weather: Rainy season doesn't usually start setting in until after Xmas.

Xmas Decor: Usually comes down the right after New Years. And HM and IASW will be shut down to remove the holiday overlays.

We were there in mid January of this year and the snow was still on the castle and decorations were still up in some main street window displays, new orleans square and by matterhorn/IASW. They take down Haunted Mansion after new years, and then when that's complete, about two weeks later, they take down IASW and remove the holiday overlay. The rides aren't down at the same time.

I went January 2nd of this year and all the holiday decor was still going strong, but I do believe it comes down almost immediately after, within days of New Year's Eve, like it does in WDW. Also, it was actually quite hot when I went. I wore long black yoga pants, a tee shirt, and UGG boots, and was sweating my tail off! I would've been okay in shorts and flip flops. But as the night fell it got a LOT colder, so I would say the key to DL in the winter is the same as WDW - layer! Overall it was quite an enjoyable experience. I even got snowed on while waiting in line for IASW!!
