First Time Flying

No it's not my first time ever flying, but in 11 days it will be my first time ever flying to WDW. My twelve year old DS and I are flying down for six days at the world. This will be our first time flying into MCO, using DME, and not having a car while at the World. I need any useful tips, tricks, hints, and advice you can give me about all these things.

We always fly in and do not rent a car. DME is great and we find that our vacation seems to really start when we board he bus. Well for me it's when the "welcome aboard" speech plays on the bus, gets me every time! We love not having to get our luggage at the airport. Just remember to put anything you will need right off in your carry on. Like meds, bathing suits, ect. . Letting disney do the driving is very relaxing and just so nice to not have to bother with the traffic and finding where things are. The DME busses are located on the ground floor( I know kinda obvious right!) but is not well marked in my opinion. We found it by accident the first time! Look for the signs for rental cars and ground transport they will guide you. Takes about 1/2 hour to 45 mins to get to most resorts from the airport, about an hour to an hour and a half from flight arrival to hotel. Hope you enjoy the trip sounds like it will be great!!! The DME is in Terminal B. We accidently have went to Terminal A, only to find out we were on the wrong side. When we fly, we each always carry a back pack with one change of clothes, night clothes, swim suit, and anything we would need for over night. That way when we get to the resort, if we want to swim, we can go for it. Also if our luggage is misplaced, we at least have enough to start the next day. Every time we have went (except this last May), we have only used Disney Transportation. Just kick back and relax. If you have questions about how to get to X, just ask a Cast Member or Bus Driver. They are always super helpful! Have fun!

Thanks guys! Do you feel ok with leaving your carry on bags with the bell hops if your room is not ready? The main thing I'm worried about are our iPads. I don't think I'm going to bring the laptop this trip.

I don't have a problem leaving the suitcase but never ever electronics or medications. We just got eat or hang at the resort with these items until the room is ready.
