We are leaving for the World in 20 days. Yes, I should be soooo excited but I am so terrified. I have been to Disney 25+ times, and we have driven each and every time. This year, hubby said we must fly in order to go, so I had no choice. We are flying out of Newark NJ landing in Orlando International and using Disney transportation to our resort.
Any fraidy cats like me out there? What have you done to get over your fears? Normally, I would be packed by now and raring to go, instead I'm petrified. :scared1: Any advice? Thanks...

I hate flying. I used to do a lot of it for work, but I've always hated it. I never sleep much the night before so I'm pretty tired by the time I hit the plane. Then I take a dramamine about 20 min before takeoff and sleep the entire time. It did take a few flights until I was able to do this (but the dramamine does take the edge off).

We leave a week from tomorrow and are flying. It's the first time my girls will remember flying. Hopefully I will be too busy with them to get nervous as I can't sleep through the whole flight this time - LOL!

Try a good book, a portable dvd player, or some great music. I've also flown w/ people who have had a few drinks before getting on the plane, but I'd be worried about being allowed on (I watched a lot of the real world show about Southwest airlines and saw many people not permitted to fly b/c of being drunk).

Good luck!

When you get to the airport, be thankful you made it there in the most dangerous transportation on the planet...a car.

NOW, sit back, relax, and enjoy the view! Flying is a wonderful thing!!

Get an iPod, sweetie. Download the DisUnplugged podcast and listen to that during takeoff...I guarantee you'll laugh your way halfway to Orlando!

I was just like you last June. I had never been to Disney. Never been on a plane. I was so scared. I decided that I wanted to go so I had no choice. (It's a 20+ hour drive for us.) Anyway, I had absolutely no problem. I actually liked it and couldn't believe how quick and enjoyable the trip was. Of course I was nervous, but once I did it I realized that I should have done it a long time ago. Since then I've flown to Chicago twice and we're getting ready to go to Disney again in January. My husband just asked if I'd be willing to go to the beach in North Carolina this summer and I said Sure! Flying has opened up a whole new world for me! I understand your fears, but my only advice is just do it and keep in mind where you are going and how fast you'll be there compared to a car ride!
