First Time Experiencing the Magic! - Pre-Trip Report.

Yes! Are you visiting Universal Studios on your trip, ankersandrew?

The plan is to check in at RPR for 7am (early access to the park starts at 8am). The room won't be ready but we will get out room keys (needed to get for the CityWalk checkpoint) and print out our express passes.

Universal can text us the room number while we are in the park.

Bell services can hold our bags both on check in & out days.

The hotel cost £134 (includes 12% cash back through Quidco) for the 2 of us for one night. So at £67 each, which includes the unlimited express passes, I think it is worth it.

The only thing is I have been told getting a cab from POFQ to RPR is the best. Have priced this through Mears taxi and it will be roughly $35.

:dance3:

Ok ok this is all very new to me this Quidco. Who did you click through to to get the hotel? Expedia?

Andy

You need to sign up on Quidco firstly. Then you click through to your chosen site, ie Expedia, via the Quidco website.

That way your purchase can be tracked and cash back paid back to you.

Ahhhh I did sign up ready but wasnt sure of the next step. Prices are way higher than when your going which is a boooo. Trying to justify spending £165 for a night at a hotel lol

I thought that paying for just one night at another hotel was another unnecessary expenditure, but look at it this way:

One night at Royal Pacific Resort for 2 adults - £134 or £67 each

For £67 each you are getting early entry to the park on both mornings and unlimited express pass on both days.

To buy the express passes alone (on the day) were going to be something like $80, and the express passes are limited if bought on the day - I think you can only use them once per ride.

So it really depends what way you look at it.

Is the £165 inclusive of the 12% Quidco cashback?

Even at £165 (I am assuming the stay is for 2 adults) it's still working out at £82.50 including the added benefits you get staying there.

Done and Dusted, did it last night, the other half doesnt know it yet, :rotfl2:
Cost £154 then get the cash back too. we will also goto see Blue Man Group in the evening and be able to have cocktails without the worry of the car.

Thanks for the idea - I will blame you :rotfl:

I haven't told my other half either! :-/

Think the 7am switch of hotel might just tip him over the edge!

I think I am happy enough taking the blame for this! I think she will love it (especially the cocktails!)

I will be happily watching your trip report when your back lol to see how he took it.

The cocktails is kinda a special thing, as we both work strange hours and then I dont drive either, so its not often we have "drinks" or cocktails unless we are away so we kinda make the most of it. Love the Hard Rock Brand so will be collecting another glass for the collection, and Im not really a fan of Harry Potter only seen the first film. So Im going to say ive done it for her lol Think she will agree with me ?:rotfl::rotfl2:

Sorry, not my kinda thing. The first harry potter film i took my niece as my brother wouldnt take her the first week it was out. To be honest cant remember most of it, as i had the biggest popcorn there was as he was paying.

I know of the stories and the scenes so will get most of it. and being from the theatre industry i love the scenic side of it too.

And yes im sure she will love the surprise, it will make her get over the shock of the early start ;-)

Feeling really good this week - have managed to pay off the rest of the holiday before the due date! :cool1:

One more thing done!

I have been doing plenty of overtime in work so have managed to pay off slightly more than normal so have managed to get it paid off a month earlier than due! :cool1:

Thats awesome! Its always nice to have it paid off earlier than expected, congrats!

Riding along! :moped: First trip is such a wonderful thing!

I am sure the surprise will be well received! I love it when hubby plans surprises on our vacations! He just did it over the 4th of July weekend and planed a 3 day trip and I had NO IDEA until Thursday when I got home from work and he said "Pack a bag for 3 days, 2 nights, and for being inside most of the time with no swimming involved and be prepared to leave by 8 am tomorrow morning" :lmao: I was like "WHAT???? :cool1: What are we doing", and he would not tell me a single thing other than that. It was the most excited feeling and I was like my 12 year old the whole way there and kept saying "where are we going?". It was such an amazing feeling knowing that he went through all that just to plan a wonderful surprise that even though the kids loved, was mostly centered around me.

Looking good! Wish we had more than a week there! :D

But you still have a brilliant week planned Clare! And no doubt you will be exactly like me, planning trip number 2 the minute you are home! :rotfl2:

Amazing! Surprise trips are always the best! I think it is fair to say you have a well trained hubby! :rotfl:
