Hi All!

My husband and I will be doing our first Disney cruise in November and just need recommendations on hotels near Port Canaveral you have stayed. We will only be there for maybe a night or two on the front or back end of the trip. I've done some research online but wanted to get opinions here too.

Thank you!

We stayed at the Homewood Suites in 2019 and we're going to stay there again next month. It seems middle of the road for pricing, the pool was decent for the few hours we were there, and they have a shuttle to the port (I think it is $7-10/person now, it used to be $5) if you don't have other transportation arranged. I also liked the included breakfast (but not sure how it has changed since then). I'll be happy to give an update upon our return.

I've seen the Homewood Suites online as an option and it has decent reviews. Reviews are always so hit or miss on other websites too! If you could update me when you get back, that would be great, we have some time before we really need to pin down a hotel.

We have stayed at the Residence Inn and it has always been good option with plenty of good breakfast options. I know most Residence Inn's have restarted breakfast which is nice to have the morning of the cruise. Also the SpringHill Suites is new and nice and close by as well. We usually park a car at Park Port Canaveral if you need a place to park a car. They also provide good service.

I realize this is not what you asked, but since one doesn't board until Noon~4pm, there's usually plenty of time for proximate, low-risk travel the day of sailing. That's why it is VERY common to fly in the pm on the day before sailing, stay near one's termination airport (e.g., MCO), then take a bus, car-service or even Rent-A-Car to the Port the next morning. Unless one is driving (from 2+ hours away?) or really wants to sleep along the Space Coast, I am not sure of the advantage.

"I want to" is of course a great reason.

We have stayed multiple times (pre-COVID) at the Hampton Inn in Cocoa Beach. https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/coibhhx-hampton-cocoa-beach-cape-canaveral/ They had a buffet breakfast included, a decent sized pool, and a pathway to the beach. We like being able to walk the beach to the pier, go to Ron Jon’s, and last time we visited the Key Lime Pie Company right across from Ron Jon’s which I would highly recommend. There are lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance of the hotel. They also let you book a shuttle ride to the port the morning of your cruise for a small fee.

There's a new/newer Home-2-Suites/Hampton Inn combination that is very nice. It's apparently a new concept by Hilton less than 1 1/2 miles from the Port.

Let me tell you a story...

That's what we tried to do in January - last flight out and then stay right by the airport. Then a giant storm came and we almost didn't make it out - spent all day the day before trying to get an earlier flight. Then, the hotel by the airport was meh, and I got car sick in the back of the van on the way to port in the morning (crowded and hot). I will never not go to port the day before, again!

We really like the Residence Inn

I would love to stay there, but it always seems to be $80-$100 more than the Homewood Suites.
