First Time Deluxe - Poly or Boardwalk Inn?

Have a great time! DH will love the "lounges", although I think lots of folks like to go there, even those who are not staying there!

The Poly.

The monorail access is great for two parks, and it has lots of great options for food, Quick Service, Table Service and Buffet-style, especially for all ages. BW has great food, but I think Poly's offerings would be more appealing to an 11 year old's pallette.

The view for fireworks is better at the Poly too.

I have stayed both, I have stayed now at all deluxe. Poly comes in second, and BWI comes in third, everyone asks me why, and the only reason I have is, they upgraded us at BWI so I can't compare evenly when you pay for standard and get a 1 bedroom I really can not put that in the same category as Poly. We own DVC at Poly, I will probably never do a whole stay there, we love love love WL, we are doing 16 days there in May.

But for you, with your husband. I would either do a split stay and do both, or I would do BWI. I have to mention this, because so many people are telling you to check it out, there is only one resort in Disney I will never step foot in again, that is BC. It was and always will be the worst experience we ever had. It is filthy, inside just filthy, all hallways. So I would not recommend this resort to anyone. Definately not worth the price, I would go to pop or ALMs before I would go to BC.

I'm a BIG Epcot fan so we always stay in that area. I prefer the Yacht but have stayed at all resorts in the area. Have stayed at Polly and really liked it but it's not my fist choice. I love being able to stroll to Epcot/HS whenever we want. Love being able to walk around the Boardwalk area at night also. When we want to go to MK we can walk through Epcot and hop on monorail (if you have hoppers) and not have to deal with buses too much

You can't go wrong either way. You're correct that there's more to do around the Boardwalk area but take a close look and see if those are things you really want to do. Once was enough on a surrey bike ride around the boardwalk. Poly has lots of thing to do that really aren't advertised or overt. Like watching MK fireworks, lighting of the tiki torches, watching the water parade float by. Plus it's easy to visit GF and CR. Both resorts are excellent and you won't be disappointed either way.

I have never stayed at the Poly, but I have stayed at GF, BWI, BC, and YC. We own DVC at GF and BWV and I honestly like the location of the Epcot resorts. You have walking access to 2 parks, so you can be on your own schedule. As stated above, your rides to MK and AK will be shorter since you are in the middle of the property. I would pick the BWI over the Poly just because we usually do most dinners in the World Showcase, so it is nice to just walk over and leisurely walk back afterwards.
