After "lurking" these boards for a few months, I thought I was pretty well prepared for our first cruise. We bought the over the door shoe holder, air freshener, two-way radios, packed pop and snacks in banana boxes, etc.
But the best advice I got was from my husband.
I was getting a little worked up about making sure I knew when our lovely DDs (ages 4 & 6) "needed" to be in their clubs so they could make flubber, color keepsake pillowcases, practice for their show so they could get a t-shirt, dress up in costumes, etc. These were the things I thought would make all their dreams come true. Only problem was, they didn't necessarily want to do all these things. They were just as happy (or happier) hanging out with DH and me or swimming or watching TV.
Once I finally understood that if the girls were happy, we would be happy, I was able to relax a lot more. And if they were happy watching "Peter Pan" on the TV for the 47th time (we have the movie at home, too) that was okay.
Best advice - just relax. You're on vacation!
