Are we able to bring wine or beer onto the ship when we leave from the port in NY? Or do we have to purchase packages on the ship?

We are taking the Magic out of NYC, if that matters.

Thanks.

Happy Hour starts at 4pm for us...with wine. On a booze cruise some years ago we were told, "Drink more, see more!" We limit our drinking so we can find our stateroom again after dinner. Door decorations help with this!!

I remember those days; hauling in liquor and soda with 2-wheel hand truck.

Don't forget to look up the drink classes on the ship. They are listed in on-board activities. I always learn something in the classes not to mention enjoy some wonderful drinks. I have found some of my favorites in these classes.

In case the link above was not clicked......Only to be consumed in your cabin. If you bring a bottle of wine to the dining room whether you open it or have DCL open it they will charge you a "corking fee" of $25.00

Ciders, vodka coolers, hard lemonades all count as beer if I’m cans..?

The people in Port Canveral aren't usually hard pressed to make the distinction. Though you always run the risk if you are found to have non-approved stuff.

Huh. Well, I'm not a beer guy and at times enjoy a delicious apple cider or vodka-enhanced lemon beverage. As long as I'm not bringing mamajuana into the cabin, I'm hoping I'll be fine..?

Technically it's a 'no'. At worst, they'll confiscate it for the duration of the cruise and you pick it up at the end as you debark.

You're asking a Canadian to enjoy American beer. Careful there. ;)

Still, I'm not about to risk bringing stuff aboard and then NOT drinking it, only to be forced to consume it on the final day as we head home. That would be a very interesting flight. ;)
