First time Concierge - short or long trip?

I am thinking about taking a Very Merrytime cruise in November on the Dream. It is the sailing right before the actual Thanksgiving sailing, so the pricing is (relatively) not that bad.

We have never done concierge, but for this trip, we were looking at a concierge 1-bedroom for the five of us. The price is (obviously) high, but not a deal-breaker.

For those who sail Conceirge and have the gift of hindsight, would you recommend a short cruise for somebody's first time in Concierge (i.e., to test it out on a short cruise and see if you find value in the upcharge), or would you recommend saving your pennies to do a longer 5+ night cruise to really take advantage of everything the room has to offer? I can see arguments either way.

Thanks!

I think it is going to be great whenever you go! The nice thing about the bedroom suites is that you can dine in the room instead of going to the MDR. We loved that! We felt that we got great conversation, because it wasn't so loud or distracting, and the little ones could run around when they were done. It was a perk that we thoroughly enjoyed! You will likely love it!

As for when to go, that is tough, because I find that just having a vacation planned is part of the excitement and anticipation. A merry time cruise would be decorated so fabulously! That would be neat to see. When we book our concierge rooms, we try to pick slow sailings, to maximize our dollars so that we can still plan other vacations vs putting all of our money on a, for example, Christmas week concierge which would consume a large amount of vacation dollars. ...just think... you could go on the November cruise, and get an OBB for 10% off your next concierge cruise if you really like it! (Deposits for concierge and non-refundable but transferable)

I really really really love the concierge perks on the newer ships, but that is because I don't like the number of people on the the larger ships and I really like the lounge and deck to escape to.

Enjoy your cruise!!!

My in-laws got hooked on NCL’s concierge equivalent on a ONE night cruise, so apparently any amount of time is enough to appreciate the experience.

My first time in a concierge room was a 4 night Halloween. Loved it so much I'm going concierge for a 7 night Eastern, also Halloween. Enjoy your cruise in November and then book another if you want!

Longer is always better. Just looking there’s a 11 night European cruise for a family of five you can have it for the cheap price of 52 kfor a 1 bedroom. 78k for a 2 bedroom or the royal suite for 87k Good choice you wanting the 1 bedroom saves you some money. Enjoy

If it comes down to a choice between sailing concierge on a shorter cruise or waiting, saving and sailing concierge on a longer cruise, I would save and wait.

My sister did the 1 bedroom suite in concierge (5 of them) and we did a normal room in concierge too- 5 nights. It was AMAZING!! Five kids total (4 adults) and we always felt they were okay going back to the room, and we all loved the food in the concierge area, as well as cocktail hours. Room service was available and kids loved this for their second breakfast or afternoon snacks. Also on the Dream, we had our own sundeck and hot tub which was a perk. The ship seemed less crowded too this way:)
