First time booking 9 night stay- question!

Hi everyone! We are pretty new DVC members and this is the first time that I've booked on my own (our first trip was booked when we purchased).

Our stay is for 9 nights, so should I go ahead and book the first 7 on my opening date and then go back and add on the other 2? Or should I wait a couple days to try to book it all at once?

When we stay more than 7 nights, I book the first 7 nights as soon as the 11 month window opens, and then go back two or three days later to modify the reservation to add the last 2 nights. If I do it that way, I am virtually guaranteed to get the last 2 nights in the same room. If I wait, I could get blocked out.

If you are going during a popular time, or want something that is very limited in quantity (like BLT or BWV standard views), it is important to do it that way. If you are booking at the 7 month window, I'd also do it that way. If you are booking something in good supply or in DVC "off seasons", it doesn't much matter. In that case, you can wait until you can book the whole thing.

Thank you! We are staying in early May (our 11 month window actually opened today) so I'll go ahead and book what I can today and then go and add on, as you said.

If you own at CCV never ever wait two days.

I'm guessing you want a studio at CCV? You always want to book right at 11 months and then add any more days. I think you'll get the first eventually but keep trying every morning to get some of your dates booked if it's available to book. So this morning you hopefully were able to book May 2-9th and then you can add the night of the 9th tomorrow and hopefully add the 1st soon too.

Wow CCV studios are almost in the same category as AKL Value and Concierge studios. Got to get them at 11 months or before.

If you modify your reservation online you can do it at 8 AM ET. If you call you have to wait until 9, and that might make the difference between getting what you want and not getting it.
