We've been to Disney many times, but we've never had an interest in the water parks till now. The kids and hubby are all wanting to try one so we settled on Blizzard Beach because it seems to have more "thrill" rides.

My kids are 13 & 19. Any tips or info we should know? We really know absolutely nothing about the park.

Any resorts close by that we can leave an have lunch at? I'm vegan and the food situation there is not looking good. I'm thinking if I can hop on a resort bus back to one of the food courts that is close, I can have a better lunch than at the waterpark. Plus it would give us a break from the water and sun for a bit.

How much are lockers? Do you get multiple times into them or do you have to pay each time you open like at Sea World?

How huge is the park? Does it feel like you spend the whole day there and not get to ride/do everything?

Thanks in advance.

You want to do the family raft ride which is near the top. The lazy river is relaxing. A true thrill seeker will try the summit Plunge, which is a crazy slide.

You are allowed to pack lunch for Blizzard Beach if you wanted to grab something to take in. I've taken a cooler before with food and drinks. :)

You will have lots of fun - the waterparks are so much fun and a must for us :thumbsup2

I recommend going at the opening. Get on the big thrill rides first. I don't do the wedgie ride but if anyone in your party wants to, that should be the first one. The line backs up quick since only 1 person can go on that ride at a time. Our favorite are the tube rides so we end up there first then we go on the other thrill rides and family raft ride. We have lunch early to avoid the insane lunch crowds after 11:30. Then after lunch, we do the rides that don't have a big line - that usually includes swimming in the big pool and definitely taking the lazy river around the park! We head out about 1 or 2 and take a rest at our resort.

As for lunch, I would not recommend leaving the waterpark and getting lunch. Bring your lunch with you to the park. You don't want to spend time going somewhere else for lunch (and it will "eat" 2 hours at least into your day!)

I'm not sure exact locker prices (check allearsnet.com) but they have a small and large. For us 4, we get one large locker for the day. You can get in and out of the locker as much as you want. Then when you turn in the key, they give you some money back. We only bring a couple of towels (you have to pay to rent them at the waterpards), cover ups, watershoes, sunglasses, and some basic purse items (kttw cards, money, first aid items, sunscreen). We wear swimsuits and sunglasses and sometimes our watershoes around the park and then just slip the key on your wrist (it has a 'bracelet'). When we eat, we get our towels and money from the locker and eat then put those items back in the locker afterwards.

So that's my advice - have fun!

My DH and I just took DS age three- we stay at All- star resorts because of its proximity to blizzard beach- we drove our car every afternoon around 3:30 to the water park and could walk to the entrance from parking lot easily. The park closes at 5. The last hour and a half of the day is wonderful because most people are leaving- no big lines= It's enough time to ride two or three of the bigger waterslides and to go around on the lazy river a time or two.
I do not recommend going on a Saturday- very busy day.
We never rented a locker just don't bring valuable stuff into the park. We left beach bag, towels, and cooler on lawn chairs and stuff was never bothered.
