I thought all you needed to get into the park was your ticket. What is this scanning of fingers all about? I feel like I trying o get into Fort Knox! Leaving in 19 days, am I going to an amusement prison?

The finger scans are just if you have an annual pass. Have a wonderful time! :cool1:

i dont think so, almost everyone scans their fingers, but they dont really work sometimes they dont even use it when the line to go in is too long. Ive seen almost everyone get their finger scaned

Eh don't worry about it!
If its realllly busy they don't even do it and they replaced the old ones with these real cool looking finger scanners that all you need to do is put your index finger on it and its easier that the squeeze on the old one. :teeth:

cool, i didnt know they changed them and i was at the world like 2 weeks ago! i guess ill see them next time i go. thats good that they changed them the ones you have to squeez kinda hurt :confused3 . when it didnt work they made me squeez hareder and harder.

The new ones at MK scan your index finger. All tickets require a finger scan at the parks.

There's an age limit on the scans...I think it's 10. My youngets DD (8) didn't have to do hers. I take a sharpie and write our names on the tickets to make sure everyone has the right one.

i know and sometimes in my case i had to do it 3 times to finally get in! i hated those finger things! lol i was there oh the 23 of July and when i got there i was like "What are these?" :rotfl: but there much better than the old ones!

We were down for a quick trip in June and went to Epcot and MK. Didn't have to do the finger scan, but it's no big deal when they do make you do it. Glad to hear they have new scanners now.... :)

Sign me up for "amusement prison"! :sunny: :cheer2:

No, seriously, the multi-day tickets are non-transferrable now. They do the finger scans to make sure the original ticket holder uses it. That's why you can't buy partially used tickets on ebay.
Originally, it was just the Annual Passholders who had to scan, it's been everybody (but kids) for a few years now.

We just got back from a 10 day WDW visit. I noticed that Saturday and Sunday there were longer lines to get through the turnstiles as people did their first time scans, learned how to do it, and fumbled to match people up to the tickets they used yesterday not realizing you must use the same ticket every time.

Later in the week as everyone got smart it went faster. Ak was the slowest for some reason. MK is faster because of the single finger scan. If you try to use your middle finger then you will hear Stitch's voice say "Naughty, naughty!" Just kidding.

I know, it's freaky high tech!

I think it is really cool how WDW prevents ticket scammers. It's amusing how every day people clog up the entry artery by not knowing how to do it. Don't worry, you'll get your chance on your first try. Then next day you'll find yourself frustrated behind newbies. Contrary to appearance, the entry lines go fast even on the busiest days.

Have a great trip!!

That's why it's smart to put your name on your ticket. I know last time we went they had us all sign our own tickets....then there's no confusion on who's is who's

Woow! so that's how the finger scans are for. We haven't been back for a couple of years things have already changed so much. Can't wait to see what other new gadgets are in place now. :p

I have never minded the finger scans although it can be frustrating when the scanner isn't working (or people aren't doing it correctly). I really appreciated not having to get stamped on exiting. All in all I feel it is a better system.
