We will be staying at VWL for our first time Feb. 25 to Mar. 2! We're very excited - we visited the resort on our last trip and were in awe of how gorgeous it is!

SO, we have a dedicated 2-BR, requested non-smoking. Are there any other requests I should put in? Good views/locations/etc.?

Also, we LOVED WCC - how is Artist Point? (I know, I know - it's a dining question, but figured I'd throw it in here....)

I love the corner "squiggly" rooms near the elevators. Tonnes of room and a real dining room table for 4 (not huge.. but much better than the normal villas!). I think the room #'s are 2142/3142/4142/5142? I'm not sure but there is a PDF room map here somewhere and those rooms stick out like a sore thumb. Good luck!

Awesome.... I love WL!!! I just love walking into the lobby for the 1st time and listening to the music and the smell!!!!

I'm sure you will completely enjoy your VWL stay. The beauty and grandeur of the WL theming has been extended perfectly into the VWL section.

Most VWL views are trees. Through the trees you may be able to glimpse views of the lake or bus area, but neither would be considered a "lake view" or a "bus view".

There are a few rooms overlooking the "quiet" pool with a glimpse of the lake.

And there are a couple of rooms that overlook the maintenance/garbage area that are referred to here as the "dumpster view". Those are the very last rooms on the far end of the resort.

Mostly what you'll see at VWL is trees. Which is what the resort is themed to, so it works perfectly! :)

I'll answer your dining question. We LOVE Artist Point! It is on our top 2 list for signature restaurants at WDW. We've never done the raucus one, but it does look like they have fun at that one too.

We love Artist Point as well and it is one of our favorite WDW restaurants.Consider trying the cedar plank salmon and the berry cobbler.

FYI--The main pool at WL will be closed for refurbishment during your stay but the smaller pool at WLV will be open.

TXMommy, we will be at the VWL the exact same dates as you are. We will also be in a two bedroom villa. If you happen to see two adorable little blonde girls, 3 and 5, they are with me. The requests we made for our room was no smoking, I really do have asthma, and a quiet area.

We received a letter from member services letting us know of the pool closure. I was also told by MS there would be a shuttle taking DVC members from VWL to the Poly or the Contemporary. Isn't it usually to cold to swim at that time if year?

We have never been to WDW in February but have been several times during the third and fourth weeks of March. It is generally warm enough to swim in the second half of March but not be warm enough in late February. I defer to DISers who have visited in late February. We will be at WLV during the last week of March and it seems uncertain whether the pool will be finished by then.

Patty3-- Our children are older but when our daughter was 5 years old, she loved the Neverland Club at the Poly. Back then it was the best "dinner club" for the kids and both our daughter and son preferred the Neverland Club to going back to the parks in the evening. Unfortunately your three year old may be too young this time.

We weren't planning on swimming, so that's OK. But last March we did swim at OKW - it was mid-March and lovely! The pools are heated, so I guess you could swim any time, but my thought is you still have to get out, and if it's cold, that's no fun!!!!

Sadler, thanks for the information. Actually, the children are my grandchildren. We are really looking forward to spending this time with them.

It will be my first time at VWL in June. I have a studio and want to know where the washers/dryers are. Thanks in advance for the info.

Laundry room on the first floor-- See attached map

We stayed in studio 1510 the week before Christmas - right across from the laundry room. It was quiet and convenient! Got up one morning around 6:30, dashed across the hall to put our laundry into the big washer (it has a timer so I knew when to come back - that was nice - no multiple trips to see if it was done). And because no one else was up and washing that early, when I went back to put things in the dryer (yep, I went back to sleep for a little bit), I divided the load between three of the four dryers so they would dry quicker. I was finishing folding the laundry by the time the kids decided to get up -- and it wasn't even 8:30.

FWIW, the washers and dryers are in a room behind a room, so you really cannot hear them from the hallway. You go through the ice / vending room to get to the laundry.

We have swam many a time in mid-late Feb in WDW/FL. I guess how acceptable it is depends on how far north you live!
