Hey all, so my wife and I decided to rent DVC points and booked a 10 night stay at the Boardwalk Villas (Aug into Sep). Seeing that this is our first time there I have a few questions:
1. Where are drinks refilled?
2. Where is quick service breakfast currently available?
3. Is the slide at the pool finished / refurbished?
4. If anyone has been to the BWV recently did you have any complaints?

Thanks in advance!

At the BW Bakery

2. Where is quick service breakfast currently available?
I believe just the BW bakery has quick service

3. Is the slide at the pool finished / refurbished?
Yes

Cant help with this one.

My wife and I have been renting points from a friend since 2007 and love the BWV. We’ll be back in November and can’t wait.

Love the BWV!!! We will be staying there 4 nights on our next trip. Kind of sad that not everything will be open but I know it will still be awesome. They usually have some breakfast items in the lounge but I don't think that is open right now. One thing that is great about the BW is that it is close to the Yacht and Beach clubs as we as Swan and Dolphin so you can always take advantage of their restaurants too.

Was there in November. Only DVC rooms are open currently. Resort side is closed. Only restaurant open, besides the Bakery , is Trattoria. No activities on the Boardwalk itself... games, performers, etc. The larger store, Screen Door is open, but that's it. Very quiet... not a problem for me, but if you are expecting a lot of activity you may be disappointed. It's possible that by the end of the summer more will be open... don't think that's likely but who knows?

It's definitely quieter than usual, but there are some new benefits! Per above posters, enjoying dining at nearby resorts is such a great perk. I mobile ordered Ale & Compass & walked it back to my room - was a delicious option for dining (especially since I was trying to avoid indoor spaces other than my studio).

BWV is our home resort, so we always love every visit. Hope you have a wonderful time!

QS at the BW is pretty limited. The Bakery has some baked items and a few hot items, but no real seating currently. You will have a kitchenette if you have a studio and a full kitchen with a one bedroom so you can prepare things on your own in your villa. Trattoria al Forno has a very good breakfast, but it's not really quick nor inexpensive.

Is there a DVC with a good QS? I am following this thread as we are stating @ BW for our first time on our next trip (owners @ BLT), but as I think about it BLT is not much better. I guess I'm just used to the QSs @ POR/POFQ and AoA.

You won't find a food court like those at any of the Deluxe resorts. BCV has a nice little counter service as does SSR. BLT has the counter service at CR and GFV has the counter service at GF. BRV and CCR have the smallish counter service at WL, Roaring Forks.

Hmm...I was going to guess that the WL DVCs would be the best, but I guess not. We went out of our way to have QS dinner at AK one time after leaving the park - won't do that again. That was disappointing. Sounds about on-par with the WLs though.

BWV is our home resort. We always order groceries for breakfasts, snacks, and maybe some lunches or light dinners. It really depends on who is going.

i like Captain Cooks at Poly. Ate lunch at Gasparilla at GF in November, it was good. I own at BWV and the lack of a real quick service is my only complaint.

We loved the location - a nice walk or boat ride to the parks. We also enjoyed eating the bakery’s goodies for breakfast each morning, and Beaches and Cream for the kitchen sink and burgers at night!

Was there last year, in a standard room overlooking quiet pool facing out toward Hs, and like at 3:00 AM was awoken by like a sound of a tv or music playing, thought it was guy next door but turned out it was some todo at HS BC I called front desk and asked and they said sometimes they rehearse things or something late at night. This was pre Covid and they cured it by giving me like five FPs, so unlikely to recur now I’d think.

Otherwise, really enjoyed the place, and very disappointed they removed the Clown.

Wow thanks everyone! Maybe we'll just bring some of our own breakfast items as it'll help save a lot of money too.

Just be careful of the seagulls if you are eating your food on the Boardwalk. I had one land on my head one time to try and grab the muffin I just bought in the bakery lol. Those birds aren't shy.

😆 A friend of mine got bit on the head by one while she was eating and walking on the dock over by Poly on the way to the boat!!

No, she was fine! We were laughing so hard. It literally just swooped down at her!!!!! Obviously she was eating something good! 😂
Oh good I'm glad to hear that! They just come out of nowhere when they see that food lol. That one came from behind me and I never saw it until it was on my head. I once saw a guy walk out Cosmic Rays with fries on his platter and one swooped down and stole some. He is lucky he didn't drop all his food. Haha.
