Staying at SSR for a few nights end of December. My plan was checking out of off site hotel early and dropping family off at AK. I was going to check in early to SSR. Is there a central location I can park while I wait for room to be ready. Home resort is BWV. Some place like Luna pool that I could sit, read, relax. I would then like to walk over to DS to wait for family. I'm reading that there are different areas, I am not sure where I could park and wait. Thanks for your help.

You cannot use a pool at another resort at this time.

Your ownership at BWV does not entitle you to park there or use the pool unless you are staying there. The fractional ownership in the points entitles you to use the parking lot of the resort you have booked on points.

But they ARE staying there. They will just be there before check-in, and if the room isnt’ ready, to have a place to park and hang out.

Right, and he is asking if there is someplace at SSR similar to the Luna Pool that he can sit at then maybe walk over to DS. ("I was going to check in early to SSR. Is there a central location I can park while I wait for room to be ready.")

Lots of parking around the main building. I have parked there to play a round of golf. Red circles around parking. Carriage house is where you check in. I would try and park in the one with the red x. On the rocks pool and bar is in the blue circle.

I believe where you have the red X is a 15 minute limit, mostly for check-in/out.

In July, after I checked in the CM could tell me which building we were in even though our room wasn’t ready. So we parked over by the Paddock pool in front of our building, which coincidentally was right next to that pool. I relaxed in the shade while my boys and husband swam until our room ready text arrived about 2 hours later. There was/is lots of parking at SSR so you won’t have a problem sitting or exploring while you wait.

If you want to sit, read, AND relax it's an easy walk to the Grandstand pool(maybe 2-3 minutes from the Carriage House check-in). There will be plenty of seating, a pool bar, bathrooms, AND peace and quiet. The High Rock pool can be ridiculously noisy -much better odds heading to Grandstand ...just please don't tell anyone.

There is a feature pool and three leisure pools at SSR.
In my opinion there are 2 feature pools, 1 near feature and 1 leisure pool. The main pool has a zero entry pool, slide, 2 hot tubs, and splash area and a pool bar (no food at this time) the Paddock pool is zero entry, slide, hot tub, kids splash area and a pool bar with food. The Grandstand pool not zero entry, no slide, kids splash area, hot tub and pool bar (seasonal, but open most of the year, no food). The Congress Park pool is not zero entry, has a hot tub, no slide, no kids splash area, no bar. My opinion is a feature pool has a water slide, kids area, hot tub and a pool bar. The Congress Park pool is quiet and relaxing. The Grandstand Pool is not with all the water features, if it had a slide it would be a feature pool too.

For parking, I wouldn’t park in the small lot at the Carriage House. That is usually full, spaces are tight and it is very busy, just park in one of the lots at the Springs buildings. They are right next to the High Springs pool.

I'd agree with CP if you don't want a drink -assuming GS bar is open. That splash area hasn't been open for over year ...is it open now? Even when it was open it was lightly used the times I've been there. But CP for sure if you don't want a drink anyway.

To be honest I walked by there like 10-15 times earlier this month and I didn’t really pay attention. I want to say it was working, but I can’t say it was. I know the spray area was not working at the Main pool.

Our first trip to our home resort SSR, where should we request a room? We are going to the parks daily and will be taking advantage of early access. I have read the last stop can be full. That would be a bummer. So any good room requests to take advantage of parks.

Grandstand is the first stop so that is where I would stay....

If you are in Standard, you don't have to worry about it; the first three stops (Grandstand, Carousel, and Paddock) are all in that section.

If you are in Preferred, you are probably fine in Congress Park. If you don't want to risk it, ask for Springs and then walk over to Grandstand in the morning.
