First time at Pop - guess what was on bathroom floor?

OMG I have no desire to stay at POP now. Is seemed so honest and motherly have never thought of locking prescription meds in safe....Mousekeepers I have met have always see :guilty: med honest in a motherly way...
Only time I had P Hair problems was offsite at Quality inn. They were stuck to the blankets on our bed. Didnt dare complain as price of rooms was so cheap...Never had this experience at WDW. At WDW we have always had first class mousekeeping, even the days we forgot to leave the tip :earseek:

We were on the first floor of the 50's building about 3 rooms from the main building. Great location. There were lots of trees right outside our room. room number 1116.

I hope everyone that wants to try POP still does. It is new and very Disney. Like I said, the Boardwalk, which is deluxe was not clean when we stayed. We would go back there, because it was great after the problem was taken care of. It is not like Disney hires better housekeeping for the deluxes-they are just housekeepers and no matter what hotel you are at, they can be bad. They are no going to clean the rooms like we clean our houses. It is a job that does not pay well and they have a lot of rooms.
It is unacceptable not to clean the rooms and management should take of the problem ASAP. I requested that I get a different housekeeper the rest of my stay because if they could not clean it the first time then I did not trust them to clean while I was there.

I agree that poor housekeeping can happen at any resort and I would not let the comments here prevent anyone from staying. I've read way more positive reports of stays at POP and I will go back for a 3rd time.

I think 50's is getting very popular and I'm wondering if it's only a matter of time before it is considered a preferred location. Some of the rooms are closer than 60's rooms for sure!

Go and have a great time!!

My family and I are going to the Pop in Feb. I agree with previous poster about giving it a chance. I have read everything I can find about the Pop and have seen good and bad about it and all the other resorts (deluxe, mods, and value). We have never stayed at a value, but want to save $ this time so we can stay longer.

We also requested a non-smoking room due to kids' allergies to smoke and have been guaranteed one. Will let you know how that worked.

I will go in with an open mind. I will report back after "white gloving" the place and let you know.

Will also report building and location and names of Mousekeepers if we can find that info!

:earseek: Nasty!
:scared1: Gee - I knew there was a reason why I want to move to a mod.
 Too many complaints about this resort.
:crazy2: Thanks for the info and I am terribly sorry to hear about that nasty experience.

I stayed at POFQ in December 2002 and though our room was very clean, the bathroom smelled like a rest stop bathroom. Most days I just waited until I got to the park to potty. I felt dirty after coming out of the shower because of the smell.

For all the money it cost to go to Disney I would definetly write a letter and make followup to make sure that this incident won't happen again. I do want to believe that that kind of situation occurs once in a while but it's still UNACCEPTABLE even in a value resort

Disney or not it is important to at least write a complaint letter or call and speak to someone. I mean what if the kid had touched and played with the hair and then call her mom... What even upsets me is that housekeeping came and 1.5h after and they didn't clean it

You should've ask an other room or insist that they give you some kind of gratuity for ur next visit.

Hmm...found a similar one stuck in a phone book in a hotel room. My, oh my!!! I have heard people who often "tuck in" their sheets just for good measure many times find such "treasure" stuck between the mattress and the box springs. Ewwww!!!! I didn't really want to sleep in the bed that night!! :crazy2:

Hey, on our last day at ASMO, I was looking for a souvenier postcard to take home (our first onsite stay, didn't know they didn't have any in the rooms), and I opened the bible to check in there, thinking someone might've stashed it in there, and found PROFANITY!! WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE!! While I'm not an overly religious person, I was disgusted, so while my mom was still finishing packing, I brought it to guest services, and Noel, the CM there was equally disgusted, but I didn't get the postcard I was searching for, that's ok!

I read this thread today and since I am staying at POP for ten nights beginning this Friday added chlorox wipes to my Wal Mart list. Bought them just a few hours ago, they are in the suitcase! Sometimes the idea of staying in a room (any room, any resort) that maybe thousands of people occupy in a year is just so full of gross possiblities I cannot stand it!

"Ain't" that the truth!!!!!!!!

I too am adding clorox wipes to my list......matter of fact I will put it in my permanent travel bag w/ all of my toiletries. For this reason I ALWAYS bring my own pac-n-play for my children, never trusting the one provided. :charac2:

Our room at Pop was clean (or it LOOKED clean) but I was happy to have my Clorox wipes.

FWIW, we are planning to stay there again. We were very happy with the resort!

LOL..that is nothing unusual..that happens at every disney resort. The housekeepers are horrible at disney..and obviously the housekeeping management staff does not understand the meaning of clean.

We checked into *** thursday night..of course their were hairs all over the floor..just like there always is. Friday morning, we checked into AKL..hairs all over the bathtub ledge and floor. As many times as we have stayed at disney..this problem has become worse and worse. Basically, it has become the norm. The mirrors are not cleaned between guests, the shower walls don't seem to be cleaned between guests.

Just a quick question. Sorry to get off the hair subject, but what is peppermint foot lotion for? Is this something a lot of people use because of all the walking in the parks? Never heard of it before and was just curious. :cool1:

In 2004 I stayed at POR, Ft W, Pop 2x and WL, and NEVER had hairs in any of those bathrooms --even the comfort station at the campground. (Campers did forget their shampoo, and I put it out on the shelf for them, but that's different). Each of the rooms we stayed in appeared very clean. I don't find the level of WDW housekeeping to be horrible at all.

I would complain to someone! I stayed at Pop in March and never had any problems. It is always worth a try - maybe you will get something from Disney for all the stress they caused you. If nothing else - you will feel better that you had complained!
