I will be going to Pop Century in September. It will be my first time staying there how is the food. Is there something that we should make sure we see or do at the resort. We will be staying there for 10 nights. Any information would be of great help.

POP has a great food court. They have lots of different options. There's also a frozen coke machine you can use with your refillable mugs.

We will be at POP Centrury from September 19th through the 28th!! POP is DH and DD's favorite resort, and we love the variety that the food court has to offer! I could eat the veggie lo-mein every day! YUMMY!!! :thumbsup2 We usually stay in the 70's section but want to change it up a bit this trip and have requested an Epcot View room in the 50's section!! I can't wait to go!!!

Keep in mind too that Everything Pop has one of the best souvenier shops of any of the resorts!!!

i went to pop in september last year and found that although the parks are quieter than the summer months the hotel is never quiet. expect long lines for buses and food courts. i was put off getting hot food in the morning because the lines to pay were long and didnt want my food to get cold. but it is a great place we enjoyed our stay and would always go here rather than stay off site

I loved the Tie dye cheesecake and the twinkie tirimisu, yummmm.

Pop is a great resort, love all the big icons like the Mickey phone, big wheel, yo yo's and such. I loved walking around the resort.

We loved the food court for the variety. My only suggestion for that would be to eat at off times, otherwise the lines are pretty bad.

The opening ceremony at the pool is pretty corny, but DS enjoyed it. HE was asked to participate but was too shy to do so.

DS also liked walking from our room to the main building/pool/foodcourt past the twister games. WE had to stop and play everytime!

We will be staying there May 30 - June 8 and can hardly wait. When I told my DS11 and DD6 about the frozen coke machine, they became even more excited. They want one the moment we arrive.

As with any WDW resort, the best thing to do is set some time aside to explore the grounds and facilities. The best things to see at Pop are the building icons, generation Gap Bridge, and of course all the stuff hanging on the walls in the lobby.

All I have to say is take enough film!! There is so much to see at Pop, our kids love it, thats why we've stayed there twice. They love the themes, the pools, the food court with the slushys! I would take a day to look around the resort, relax at the pools and such. So much to see and do there.
It's great for adults to, as we walked around my DH and I couldn't help, but not laugh and say we remember that, some of the memorbilia will take you back to when you were a kid! It's a great feeling, of course that's what Disney is all about a time to feel like a kid again;)
We liked the ASmo too don't get me wrong, but POP was so much better in our opinion. The next time we go I'd have a hard time talking them out of going, but being selfish I have always wanted to try POR.:guilty:
Overall, I don't think you'll be dissappointed, have a great time, take alot of pics!!:)

I will agree with everyone that the food court and shop are absolutely fantastic at POP, but.............keep in mind that this is a huge resort. We stayed in September during free dining (which we didn't have) and it was packed to the rafters. We were celebrating an anniversary & paid for a preferred room, asking for king bed. Didn't get the king bed & the preferred room we got was not preferred to us - it was as far away from everything as possible in the 60's with a view of nothing & far away from the elevator, etc. (Although according to Disney it was a preferred room) There were rude, unsupervised kids running up & down the halls of our building after 10pm at night. People next to us flipped their lock out so that they didn't have to use a key and continued to slam door on that lock for at least an hour after 10pm (which meant we got no sleep). We never ate breakfast at the food court because it was mobbed, but late dinner wasn't a problem - you could get a seat.

We've switched to ASMu because it's a much smaller resort, refurbished rooms, no issues with bus transportation and our standard room was in a much better and closer location to the food court & busses than the preferred one we paid for @ POP. So DH & I don't plan on returning to POP anytime soon! JMHO................:rolleyes1

We had booked a stay at Port Orleans Riverside for our last trip and decided to head down a day early, and booked a room at POP for one night. What a great resort! When we walked into the lobby the staff was doing The Hustle, really set the tone. We had a meal in the food court and it was really good! Try the shrimp lo mein or the philly cheesesteak wrap. They were delish! We were in a preferred room in the 60's building; super close to the pool and food court/gift shop. Granted we were only there one night but would probably stay there again! Only wish they had coffee makers in the rooms.

This will be our first time staying at POP, we are really excited. I love veggie lo mein, and DH loves Philly steak sandwiches, (he will probably like the wrap) we will have to try these.

Is there bar by one of the pools? I thought I read that somewhere, but I'm not sure where. That could be nice one evening too.:thumbsup2

There is a bar by the Hippy Dippy Pool just outside the food court/shops. It is called Petals. They have frozen drinks and bottled beer. Try the Mai Tai! It was good! You'll have a great time, POP is a cool resort.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

I liked sitting by the pool with my pina colada from Petals, watching my little girl swim, and then dragging her inside for Twinkie Tiramisu (TRY IT!) before heading back to our preferred location room which was very close to the bus stops, pool, and Everything POP, which is hands down the best food court IMHO.

We've stayed at POP once and Carribbean Beach once. Our other visits were offsite at the Holiday Inn Family Suites (now the NICK hotel).

I asked dh where he wanted to stay at either CB or POP. He said hands down POP. Yes, the hotel is huge. Yes, it is bright. BUT, it is a great, fun environment and we loved it. :)

Honestly, we enjoyed CB. The grounds are peacfully beautiful, but the POP is a lot more fun, especially with kids. :)
