My family and I recently stayed at the Polynesian for the first time. We stayed for nine days In the Tokelau building. Overall we loved the resort. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The flowers and plants through out the grounds go perfectly with the theme of the resort. The Volcano pool was great and the kids loved it . It was great to watch the Electric Water Pageant and Fantasy In The Sky from the beach at night. It was nice just to walk back to your room after the show was over and not have to fight any crowds of people. The rooms were spacious and nice. We requested connecting rooms and got it. There was some crayon on the walls and some water spots on the ceiling in the bathroom. But that didn't bother me at all. We put the crib in front of the crayon to cover it up. I thought the smell of the place was nice. I don't know if it gets stronger or worse at different times of the year but it was pleasant.
One of the things we weren't to crazy about was Captain Cooks. They didn't have too much to chose from. I guess we were used to the All Star Movies food court which has just about everything. There wasn't even a sink to wash your cup out in. There was only one soda fountain and it was out of ice about 80% of the time. I know this is just a restaurant and not a food court but it could be better. I think we just expected more. We ate at Ohana and Kona and thought they were very good. We did the Luau and thought it was fantastic, a must do if your staying at the resort.
We will be staying there again some day for sure, but we have many other resorts to try out first.
