My parents are taking their 36th trip to DW in February... and this will be their first camping trip! I am all grown up with kids of my own but I grew up on Disney with my parents and have been lucky to visit quite a few times (I am on trip 20-ish but never camping). My parents have also camped with us growing up and now they drive around with their beautiful 5th wheel as retirees in the winter months. This year, they will camp at FW which has been a bucket list item for years... so naturally I have to tag along for the Disney portion of their two month Florida voyage :). We are sooooo excited and look forward to learning all about FW!

It's a lovely place to stay. Enjoy!:smickey:

Just be warned Once you go to WDW and stay Fort Wilderness Style you'll never go back. You will have ruined yourself for all the other resorts and want nothing more than head back there. IMHO you will find the FRIENDLIEST and BEST CM's on property Fellow Campers are among the best people you can hope to meet Help is rarely an "I am confused look away" Go forth and enjoy

This, plus, in my opinion, some of the best food on property. Trails End for dinner is hard to beat. The Hoop Dee Do dinner show is great as well if you can spare the coin.

Welcome, don't be a stranger.

Michael is right. Trails End is a must for us. We make it our go to place to eat the day we arrive and last place we eat. HDDR is another must do and I have seen that show nearly 15 times and it never gets old. It is tied for #1 with TONY"s on my wife's list

1) Don't do The Fort.
2) You, and they, will be spoiled for every other campground.

NOTE:
I admit to having an extreme bias in favor of FW.
I think it is the best resort at WDW, and the best campground I know.
This is not a Bucket List location, but a Family Annual List location.
Have fun at The Fort . . . OK, so that is hardy a wish, as it is so easy to do.

This is great to hear! We live about 2,000 miles from FW so it really is more of a bucket list for us :).

At the Fort one could meet The Rusty Scupper, now there is a bucket list item. Of course we would love to have him come by our site September 23rd for sure.

Chris this is only a theory but it has some anecdotal evidence that seem to indicate it has at least SOME basis in fact.
A Large Pitcher of FRESH Mai Tai's have been know to to entice and lure The Scupper from his normal Fort Wilderness range and into the campsites of guests. A selection of fine edibles when also provided for his consumption will likely result in a longer stay and greatly increase your chances for a rewarding interaction with him

RS is 2000% right One does not DO the Fort it is not, nor should it be an item on a simple check list. A stay at Ft W is an experience to be enjoyed and savored Memorable to the point of wanting (Calling or Compelling) you back to re experience it and seek out more of what it has to share with you
