I have been doing so much reading! So much to take in!
I am still trying to learn Genie plus.

Is the guardians of the galaxy similar to tower of terror?

I am going to make a list of what we really want to ride and the attractions we can skip.

Any tips would be helpful.

Yes, GOTG in Cali used to be Tower of Terror, so it's similar - but yet different! Very fun ride.

Every strategy is different for what to go on first. The park closes at 8 pm. I want to make the most of it but still enjoy it. Hopefully once I use genie I will understand it better.

If you can write up a list of attractions you want to do and want to skip, we can help you with some strategies. The beauty of DLR vs. WDW is you can get so much accomplished before 11am. Since it's a locals park, the crowds aren't really heavy until noon. You can even not touch any Genie+ selections until after 11am if you choose wisely. Casey is very good at going from one Genie+ to another. Depending on where you want to start, you can get a lot accomplished. Genie+ at DLR is superior because it's not as utilized by the locals given they don't have the crush for time that non-locals do. There's also so many Genie+ rides in CA that you can just go ride to ride with ease.

So definitely let us know your attractions you want to do and don't want to do. I would say, if you have done it before, skip Galaxy's Edge unless you're just a super Star Wars fan and can't live without it. They are exact copies. I tend to bracket attractions into 1. Things that are unique to DLR, 2. Things that are similar but better at DLR, 3. Things we just have to do because we're going to a Disney park. There is a lot of duplication between the parks but there's also a lot of incredibly unique differences as well as things at DLR that are just better like Pirates and Fantasyland.

If you're talking about California Adventure, we tend to just buy the Individual Lightning Lanes for Radiator Racers and Webslingers. That way you don't have to make a choice of which to rush to first at rope drop. We start at Pixar Pier and go clockwise at Rope Drop. Everyone else is going to Cars Land or Avengers Campus. We go to Pixar Pier and ride Incredicoaster multiple times with no wait. Then we get a LL for Midway Mania but that's totally skippable. We make our way around Pixar Pier and then get a ILL for Webslingers and a Genie+ for Guardians. We go next to Cars Land with the ILL for Radiator Racers. We hit Luigi and Mater. Grab a LL for Soarin. We tend to skip Grizzly River Run as we don't enjoy getting soaked. You've pretty much hit all the rides at that point

Definitely the place to start is to make a list of what we want to do. I am going to watch a video about genie. Thanks for the information. That helped me.

How many days are you going to be in the parks? That can drastically affect how you optimize your visit.

Have you used the genie info for itinerary? It says you,put in what you want to ride and it gives you a list.

I've heard that planning feature on Genie is pretty terrible and ends up sending you to rides at not-so-great times. Personally, I wouldn't use it.

Are you in BOTH parks for 1 day total? Or 1 day for each park?

It's awful. Use Touring Plans if you're going to see how your itinerary works. Granted, it only works for one park at a time.

I really like the info that DLRExpert has provided in the sticky at the top of the forum on touring advice and LL selections.

We are just doing one park for one day. Hope to go back again sometime once I get acquainted with the parks! Thanks for the info I have touring plans. I have the book too and trying to read. And the other Disney stuff
